    Ah Russia,
The home of criminals, prostitutes, stand-over men and everything dodgy.
I wouldn't trust those bastards with anything.

    • +12

      So you'd rather trust Americans?

      • +2

They both suck, but if it comes down to it, I'd always side with the Americans.

        • good luck mate~

        • +3

You've obviously never lived in Russia. I did for 18 months between 2005-2006. Hardly a week went by, where I wasn't asked for a bribe by an official.

It's impossible to do business there, without paying people off.

        • I visited russia this year and hated it. Corrupt as hell, rude, ignorant people.

        • +1

Corrupt - yes. Rude and ignorant people - you are very wrong. Simply lack of fake smiles on people faces as it's not part of culture.

i trust Russians more than Americans …

    • You can certainly trust google more, your data is very secure there. Oh, wait, is it really? Or maybe home of yours have any similar offer?

    • I take it that you dont drink russian vodka?

  • +3

Yeah.. this doesn't sit right with me.. Free space from russians and all you have to do is install their application to get into your machine. Call me paranoid.

    • +3

Paranoid. However, in this case, i'm sitting on the fence right with you mate!

    • Safer with Google & NSA

    • +1

      kaspersky. hmm hmmm hmmm. russian

    • Do you use kaspersky?

  • -3

as i said. not recommended for personal files. for that i'd rather get paid cloud storage with encryption and 2-step authentication.

    • -2

for what ? who needs to look at your files is doing it already, encrypted, 2 step or not.

Want some real privacy ? make a server at home or get to mega.co.nz

      • +1

you're contradicting yourself here by saying i shouldn't get encrypted cloud storage and then pointing me to one.

also 2-step authentication doesn't protect you from the host of your data. it shields against keyloggers, trojans, password hacks, etc.

  • Do I get a new wife with the 1TB storage?

    • Of course!! and she will hang around for 2 years until she gets her permanent residency, then she will divorce you and take a big chunk of your assets while you continue to pay her maintenance.

  • +3

    Store Pussy Riot videos there.

mail.ru is a well recognised company in Russia, and by that I mean they are bigger than anyone including Google, Facebook. Just because cyber criminals rampant in there, doesn't mean you can write down a well recognised company.
It's a pity that people still get fixated on bygone american cold war propaganda machine and think everything to do with Russia is bad.

kaspersky anti virus. hmm hmmm hmmm. russian

    • +2

Repeating the same post doesn't make it funnier

  • +1

Its a good place to store all your torrented stuff. You wont get done for copyright cause Russia dont give a crap.

  • yeah ! one can create the account but how does one navigate after creating the account it will be all in ruski.
i doubt they have other languages, i have heard they have just started spanish. (interface, navigation etc)

  • This company is associated with child pornography and should not be trusted regardless of how big they are

  • Could be useful. I was surprised when I discovered a lot of websites suffering from spam simpluy banned *.ru and *.cn (China) domains from registering altogether. Russia‘s own social network, vk.com, requires mobile authentication. A lot of foreigners would like to join vk for its abundance of copyrighted material yet the mobile authentication serves as a psychological barrier (regardless of whether one believes the website would co-operate with the MPAA in prosecuting downloaders).

  • Any idea why this is expired? I've just gotten 1TB….
