Mechanical Keyboard

Hello All,

I'm looking for a good deal on a mechanical keyboard as I am very interested in trying one.

Any suggestions?

  • The differences between mech kbs is the keys used and the aesthetics…

    I've used reds and blues

Reds are kinda quiet with a soft click sound, feels quite nice (My K90) <— My bias for this because it was my first mech kb

Blues are louder and feels a little deeper… (My Orbweaver)

TBH, you just gotta try it out for yourself to see which keys you like. Either way, it feels alot better then membrane once you've used mech kbs

Also, i'm looking to sell my K90 so if you're interested PM me…

  • There are various different switches which have different feels, responses and weights for actuation. The the type of keycap used (POM, PBT, ABS, Painted ABS, Custom resin) affects the overall feel, and all of this changes from keyboard to keyboard.

Visit MechKB if you live in Sydney and Roland will happily let you go through the various types. You can also buy a switch tester from them to test the individual switch types.

  • How do you rate the corsair v60 against the ducky keyboards ausmechkeyboards?

    • Get anything other than a K60. The entire function row isn't even mechanical— it's rubber dome. Unless you're getting it for really cheap (see: ~$50, and they do often go that low) then it's not worth it.
