Did anyone find anything of value in any BigW store? Is what I've seen listed on the site for the last two days all they had?
I went to Mt Ommaney BigW today with the hope of finding something, but they didn't know anything about the game clearance at all. When the guy at the counter called his manager, all he could provide was a sketchy "the ones with the yellow spots on the side".
There was basically nothing at my local Big W. They were similarly priced to the "sales" they had before, with a $10 discount on a $58 game here and there. Even EB Games were cheaper on some games.
Even the Wii Zumba game they use as an example on the website in order to link to the sale isn't even on sale - it's $68. It's pretty misleading.
Apparently thousands of titles - someone should claim false advertising.
They do have thousands of titles - thousands of the same titles, across 174 stores.
Pretty disapointing
The ad indicated 2000 titles and many thousands of units.
Brink (Xbox 360) is now $5.
I have an original DSi and got 3 games, postage, staff discount and used the $10 off code. Paid less than $10.
Bought Biggest Looser, My Cooking Coach and Grease.
All done on-line and in the comfort of my lounge room.
Big W have been off my radar for a while. They pull junk like this and plaster Chaching all over their ads and think people will think great. Their stores have crowded aisles that (in some stores) make it difficult to get trolleys through.
Sales were sucky pretty much everywhere.
i got Worms Collection $5 PS3 at South Yarra BigW. Saw a bunch of RISEN as well..
Big w karrinyup was selling ps2 games stickered $10. The clearance is BS.
Does anyone know any good Wii games for sale at BigW???
There was probably around 150 games at my local yesterday and plenty of those were decent for $5 amongst all the copies of crappy PC games, WiiFit+ and DJ Hero 2. Seems like anything that was on sale before has been knocked down to $5. They also hadn't put everything out yet, even this morning they still had crates of games on the counter to put out.
There was plenty of games that carried a pre-owned price of $25 and over at EBs, so I just grabbed some games to trade-in against some stuff I actually want to buy.
I grabbed: Captain America (360), Thor (PS3), Splinter Cell Trilogy (PS3), Arcania (360), Singstar Queen (PS3) all for $5 each.
I have seen some DS games such as Wario Ware: D.I.Y, Rhythm Heaven, Style Boutique, Nintendogs, Professor Layton which are $10 it really depends whether they have stock or not at your local BigW store to buy them.
After visiting another Big W today, I can see why a lot of people are saying the sale is crap. There were actually quite a few $5 games still on the shelves though, they just hadn't been put out with the rest of the discounted games.
Managed to grab another couple of titles that netted me about double the $5 in store credit at EBs - Sniper Elite (360) & MTV vs ATV Reflex (PS3).
I think your post sums up all the boxing day "sales". Just an excuse to flog off all the left over Christmas decorations and to lure shoppers in the hope of finding bargains that we see everyday courtesy of members of this site.
