I am in market for water purifier/filter for household. something portable ( not fixed unit- no prof. installation) and reliable as currently renting.

we get water bottle most of our consumption but it gets expensive overtime.

    There are a few good water filter shops on eBay (at least there were last year when we were buying ours). Some of them can be quite helpful with questions you may have and their prices are competitive - even when paying for postage. We used to have a benchtop water filter that just screws onto our tap and sits on the side of the sink. It was great, got rid of the chlorine taste (our main reason for using a filter).

    A product/seller like this is what I'm talking about (am NOT vouching for that particular seller…never had specific experience with them);

    Bunnings/Masters etc have a couple of models. I've never found them particularly competitive but haven't looked in a while so it may have changed. You could possibly look online at their websites to compare their offerings without having to go in store.

    I use Brita filters from Target combined with an electric reservoir pot (i.e. http://www.usa.tiger-corporation.com/products/6)

    The hot pot is awesome in winter or whenever I want tea/hot choc/instant coffee
