Checking www.rivers.com.au… 50% storewide discount doesn't seem to apply, as the items are same price as pre-discounted price..
Having same problem - 50% doesn't seem to apply. Wondering whether it's US timing and it will apply when they reach Boxing Day? Or did someone forget to program the website?
Likeley the latter as this happened a week or so ago with another so called "sale"!
They also then had a mens shirt sale last week but didn't even bother to advise their registered online clients by email until days after it started!!
Then there is the sizing. They have a page that supposedly explains the various sizing dimensions but it is just wrong and there is no mention at all of the dimensions of their "extra slim fit" so it's just a lottery if it would fit at all!
They are pretty hopeless with organising or detailing things properly and when you email them you either get no response or some inane reply which doesn't answer your query or address the issues/s! And don't even bother calling them as it's like talking to the janitor and are just as useless at answering queries or in resolving problems!
Probably the worst customer service short of a third world overseas call center!! :(

A pair of joggers I bought last month for $20 was $40 this morning (unchanged from last night). A pair of womens boots purchased in the same transaction for $40 was still $40 today.
I was going to link the shoes in question (they're 5623MJOG and 3473WBOOT) but their website is currently DOWN. Perhaps they received too many complaints this morning — including the one from my missus.
Yeah. I've been trying their website on and off all day since my first post hoping the penny might have dropped and they would fix the problem and applied the so called 50% SALE pricing!
But no it's DEAD, Zilch, Nada!!
I'd say they took the site down because they finally realised what a CLUSTER F&@K they made of it!!

I do apologise for this, the online shop was inundated with orders which did make the server have a few hiccups. Also there was a problem with the prices they did not change over on the day of the sale and this has all been fixed.
Any orders that have been received from midnight Boxing Day will be charged the correct special price.

I have visited Rivers in Harbour Town shopping centre. Woww… Thank you for the 50% store wide discount. You can not go wrong where including already reduced items, no exception…
I know Rivers not many friends but place for OzBargainers when you can buy shooes for your children as cheap as $4.95 etc.
Hmm, just bought a jacket a couple of days ago, wonder if I can return it and re-purchase…
