Adam is using the currently available and much more expensive T8 (prototype, 3D printed, $3000). The T8X is due in 2014 and is the cheaper, mass produced, more robust, injection moulded version (though all the same robotics, algorithms etc). Robugtix is a Hong Kong based robotics company specialising in multi-leggeds robots - and they seem to be extremely talented.
You have three options:
