New Printer or New Cartridge

My laser printer just ran out of ink and it will cost over $25 to buy a new genuine toner, so I was thinking of possibly buying a new laser printer with scanning and copying functions and possibly wireless connectivity.

Can anyone recommend a decent printer at a low cost or a better way of getting toner?

    Do not buy genuine toner. its not worth it!

        All my laser toner I bought from ebay. Make sure you find reputable seller.

        I buy Brother toner for my 2142 laser printer from tonerstation on ebay: http://stores.ebay.com.au/Toner-Station. The price for my cartridges is around $17.50 and cheaper if I buy more at a time. Cartridges are well-boxed and packaged and appear to be brand new, not refills. Both the cartridge and print quality are superb and delivery (free!) is very speedy. Tonerstation supply toner for all major printer brands, but Brother is the only one that I have personal experience with.

    Pull out your toner cartridge and you will find a small glass 'window' in one end. Stick black insulation tape over the end of it, pop it back in and continue printing.

    I don't know if it's recommended or necessary, but hubby gave ours a little bit of a shake up for good measure.

    This was discussed here on ozb a couple of years ago, and our cartridge that supposedly ran out of toner is still working 18 months later.

      Unfortunately I couldn't see a glass window on the toner cartridge. The cartridge is a CT201609

    sure Dell has a trade in program where you can get $50 for your old printer when you buy a new Dell multifunction. Recomend the B1163w that scan , copy and print and also wireless, see below link for trade in program and for B1163w
