eReader (backlit) for cheap

Hi,

I'm after a backlit eReader for an older person.

If cheaper, a tablet might be okay too.

Any suggestions? It's a Christmas present

    Well my last one cost only $40 so around that would be good.

    It was a Pico branded thing, and served it's purpose well until now (battery only lasting afew hours)

    The Kobo mini has been seen for $49. It doesn't have a backlight though.

      I would strongly advise against getting a tablet if the main purpose is for reading ebooks. Reading from an ereader is far more comfortable.

      If backlit is a must then go for kobo glo as suggested above.

      If not Itry sony ereader pst t2, they're currently $99 at JB hifi
