Scoopon hit hard by ACCC…. Now would have to pay the legal costs of ACCC as well! Don't think there would be any more flash sales or "$10 Myer credit for 1 cent" deals :)

Great. Maybe they'll clean up their act now.
Finally some good news showing that consumer protection can be enforced.
A bit of a shame though that victims of Scoopon's past transgressions don't directly benefit from this ruling. I was one of the people who were denied a refund for a Scoopon voucher when the merchant claimed 'no availability'. I then complained to the ACCC. Yet there seems no indication that Scoppon has to re-open any old refund requests and pay back what they owe us consumers…
Try again this time through adma
I sent a reply to an old (2012) email in which Scoopon had refused a refund.
I mentioned this week's court ruling and asked whether now is a better time to ask for a refund. And yes, it would seem so.
I was just informed that I have a store credit in my account. :-)
Wow, I wish I keep all my emails, I was dodged of a $59 deal I paid for due to some reason that I can't book coz it is too close to expiry…like 2 weeks Is apparently not enough time for a restaurant even for a Wednesday night. Scoopon has screwed so many,… 1m seems like they got off lighty
Santa has arrived early this year!
