I'm not going to buy this but I will up-vote it for capturing a peice of my cheapskate heart

    20 pencils at OW = $8.27
    =41c each
You are getting use out of an extra 20% of the pencil, saving 8c per use

Therefore you would have to get through 12 pencils to get your money back.

    Not bad, actually….

i was searching for fellow mathematicians in Australia.. and I knew this is the place to look for.

    • Go to any RSL club or anywhere that has Keno. Take a whole bunch of their FREE 2 inch pencils you use to fill in the forms. I just saved you $8.27

You can finally make good use of those short pencils from Ikea

    • +5

They can also be used as firewood, you set them alight using a halogen lamp to give off smoke signals to the rescue team when you become lost

      • wow that was creative.

      • +1

        lost in the Ikea Store

    • Keno pencils are available in more places than Ikea

  • US$1=Aus$1.12, what a world…

    • and it went up to $1.13 in a few minutes…

  • I would just use a piece of chopstick or something.

    • nasal spray?

      • +4

This is more of a prosthetic than a nasal spray actually. It has been proven that nasal sprays cannot lengthen your pencil.

Keno pencils are a much better deal.. ;)

looks like a conspiracy presented by the Anti-Obsolescence League (AOL)

  • Geez, I remember these things from my school days. Still, I'll rather use Ikea/Keno/<giveaway> freebie pencils than spend money for this.

this would have been so sweet during primary school….
who uses pencils any more though?

    • +1

Primary school kids, and your sudoku / crossword playing grandparents. 2 extreme ends of the age spectrum, really.

    • I still do. Great for drafting stuff.

As long as you can see the lead they will write on paper unlike pens that have ink that run out or ballpens with balls that do not roll.

    • They're also supplied for marking your ballot papers because they're more reliable, so everybody of voting age will use it unless they use their own (non-leaded) writing implement.

Do you not enjoy the feel of wood in your hand?

  • buy 3 for $2.62… save $0.38 which leaves me with enough money to put-put my 2nd hand vespa to Ikea for some free pencils!

"The length of the pencil doesn't matter. It's how you use it," says the short pencilled guy.
