Can you please link some 32GB class 10 SD cards for $19.95?
Much better product; http://www.jw.com.au/samsung-32gb-sdhc-plus-uhs-10-48mbs-p-1…
that card is 30% more expensive?
30% more expensive?
and 1200% faster…
but a whole lot better. I guess it depends on what the OP is using the card for.
here is a link for why speed could be beneficial for the user http://us.hardware.info/reviews/4544/10/49-sd-and-microsd-cards-tested-theres-a-difference-test-results-taking-photos-for-1-minute-with-the-canon-eos-650d
i would assume paying 30% more for anything you'd be getting a better product, the posted deal is good for what it is.
dunno what the negs are about?
op is a good deal and it gets negged? wot
it might be a good deal for that particular card, but it is extremely poor value, and although a better alternative is suggested that is 30% more, that 30% is only a few dollars more. a slight stretch of the budget that isn't likely to break the bank and provides a significantly better product.
op is a good deal and it gets negged? wot
What negs?
30% more
Depending on your location and how many cards you need, the prices might pretty similar — the Samsung card xuqi posted is available for pick-up, whereas no David Jones store near me offers Click & Collect for this, meaning I'd have to pay $9.90 postage if I just wanted one card.
The deal the OP posted is reliant on buying four of them to get the lowest price — how many people need four very slow SD cards?
the current -6 i have on another post in this real for simply pointing out that this card is class 4.
actually I have that card - 48mbs is the read speed not the write speed. Write speed is around 12mb/s only.
Plus if you havent tested the actual write speed of this card it could be much higher than 4mb/s. I remember some of the older sandisk C4 cards were actually around 15mb/s write. (I have one)
So what, if the purpose for the card doesn't require the speed it is wasted.
This is like buying a performance orientated car like a Golf GTI because it's only 30% more than the Golf 90 TSI Comfortline.
It is an OK deal.
Cheaper doesn't mean better.
Value for money > cheapest price.
I'd rather pay the $6 more to get Class 10 + more reliable brand (Samsung are very good with flash memory vs the rest).
I got one from OW earlier in the year, price matching $22 from shoppingsquare. I paid just over $20 for it…
How did you get them to PM SS?
By posting on every single deal on OZbargain meaningless information…….
I think the deal is good if you don't require a class 10 card which most people do not, why pay more for something you don't need?
Most people don't shoot in HD I guess?
The read/write for this card is a very, very slow 4MB/s!
which is clearly very very slow…
I think electronictomato was exclaiming at the slow speed, not that the OP didn't mention the speed.
I don't understand the negs lol.
You buy a slow car expecting it to be fast, you buy it and it is slow then complain that it is slow.
This card is too slow…. You're better off paying the extra for a class 10.
Class four is as quick as writing the data down yourself with crayon.
Speaking of sd cards, has anyone had any experience with Polaroid sd cards?
http://www.dicksmith.com.au/memory-cards/polaroid-sdhc-memor…
They have a 16gb class 10, 16 & 32gb micro sd cards, as well as a 64gb uhs1 sd card
Personally I hate class systems, but in this case it is nothing below class 10 for me..
Last year I bought a Class 10 SanDisk micro SD with SD adapter (much more versatile than just SD) for around $23 shipped. That was 2012, and memory prices are supposed to be falling every year.
Things don't always fall every year. Sometimes it goes up as is the case with ram, ssds, and flash memory.
Doh - 50 years ago I bought an icecream for 10c …..
Which like your vote, it is pointless as its not available now
You're an old bastard.
Good price but I can't say I would recommend the Sony SD cards… I have bought three (2x class 10 and 1x UHS1) and have managed to break the plastic casing on all three with in a few months of ownership. I have not come across this problem with any other SD cards I have owned (that includes the Silicon Power, Tomato Flash and Kingston cheapies). They seem to make the cards from a very brittle plastic.
you can find Class 10 cards for around that price…
