thanks…..just to clarify from the other store the offer i confirmed is $499 after cashback. Need is for personal/home use, very casual gaming, prefer decent performance & decent batter life……
I am bit confused between this one and….

Both are identicals but V5 doesn't have DVD drive….which i think is nice to have….your opinion pls…
this was posted as a deal here
Big plus is the 4th gen i5. Normally for this price you would be getting a 3rd gen i3
thanks Zelda…4th Gen i5 something attracts me to this deal. The only downside i found from looking at http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Acer-Aspire-E1-572G-5420… is that speakers are at the bottom of unit….not ideal
the Battery life on this is going to be pretty crappy. Also the processor is ultra low energy variant with a Clock Speed of only 1.6 GHz (dual core) I think most of the I3's would rip this apart
on the plus side it is using the 4400 hd onboard graphics
you might want to check out this old expired deal (I think this laptop is/was better) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/117039
fyi if you really need an external dvd

$200 more gets you a quad core and a graphics card http://www.centrecom.com.au/copy-of-hp-pavilion-g6-2324tx-d5…
That would give you some power to run games.
thanks…running games is not the need, at the most very casually. I agree if i was picking for myself i7 would be the way to go. I guess given the price and hopefully claiming TRS makes decent price for i5 4th Gen….
Its $678.00 and has $81 cash back? Its also the cheapest model (the E1) Acer make. If it were $430 and I needed a cheap nasty laptop ordered today, maybe.
what do you need from a PC ?
