Krispy Kreme, hurry up and come to Adelaide* so we can be freed from the tyranny of the self-proclaimed "Donut King"!

(* I am aware that there are plans to open stores here; but I'm hungry NOW)

    • no Burger King but Donut King? or am I not aware of sth trivial?

    • There's some pics of the construction of KK on the 'krispy kreme south Australia' Facebook page

Footscray's Donut lady makes the best donuts ever.

    • Are you talking about Olympic Doughnuts at Footscray, yeah Ive heard good things. Was told Walkers Donuts were supposed to be nice though and theyre ok, but was kind of expecting better. So are Olympic Doughnuts all that and please use some tasty adjectives to explain :)

Olympic Doughnuts come in two flavours:
        - Wrong
        - Jelly Filled

The Jelly Filled are freshly "filled" from the snout of a dolphin.

Once more for effect - they are filled with jelly from the snout of a DOLPHIN!

Olympic Doughnuts is a must visit, best part of the week I spent in Melbourne.

        • So are you saying they're nice?? Freshly filled from the snout of a dolphin. Hmm, I guess if you like dolphins this could be a good thing.

    • Are they sprinkling "that" @ footscray donut?

    • I tried Big Lou's donuts at the Melbourne Show in September and they were life changing xD proper fresh, big and tasty donuts drool

      • Mmmm now uv got me interested, they sound nice. Do they have a proper shop or r they just at the Melbourne Show?

      • Googled them http://www.biglous.com.au/ = Brunswick Street, Fitzroy. They definitely look like they should be taste tested :)

      • On the contrary, I tried them months ago and found them to be pretty average. Not bad, but I wasn't blown away.

        • Oh ok, its interesting how some people are blown away by some donuts and others think theyre just fine. I guess everyones got different tastes. Ill maybe give them a go anyway and see how they fare. Any excuse to eat a donut. Oh and I guess slightly getting off track but I recently had a long john from Fergusson Plarre at the Queen Vic Markets and that was seriously heavenly, its basically a long donut with jam and cream (I should really try their donuts) anyway seriously nice. So definitely recommend them if anyones at the markets looking for a yummy treat :)

"5. Code words expire 12pm AEST the day the code is announced."

This sux! Especially coupled with the fact that most of the KK locations closed down.

  • These kind of deals make me so sad that Krispy Kreme hasn't made it to SA yet :(

  • Don't forget WA, we don't even have 7eleven here, which is suck :(

    • I know. I flew to Melbourne last week just to get a slushy. We had a bit of a look around too, it's not a bad city to visit.

Sweet, going through the airport three times in the next week.

  • I 'sampled' a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the States recently, and I was surprised how different they were to 'traditional' Australian doughnuts. The US ones were much lighter and fluffier. Perhaps fresher? I am not sure which I liked better. There is something satisfyingly 'meaty' about an Australian jam filled doughnut.

FYI I haven't tried the Australian Krispy Kremes, since they are not in Perth yet. In fact these days with independent bakers becoming very hard to find, my doughnut loving ways are being sorely tested.

The last 10 or so times I've had KK donuts (thanks 711 deals) they were hard, crystalline and sugary — not very pleasant. I prefer a soft fluffy donut with a chewy topping.

I wanted to post this sooner but hope it might still benefit someone…

On Friday 13th (first day of the promo) I went to the Narre Warren (VIC) store, mentioned the code and asked about my freebie. He had no idea what I was talking about and when I explained he said it was probably for the Paramatta store as they often do promos… I asked if he was sure, he said no, I said can you check - one of the others said she had never heard of it, but then another said "yeah, silent night…" and then they had a little discussion amongst themselves re what I was supposed to get. The one that had apparently never heard of it said she thought it's one of each of the xmas-themed donuts. The original guy I ordered from seemed surprised, but bagged them up and away I went - a xmas sprinkled, a xmas tree w/ kitkat, a vanilla-custard-cream filled with spearmint leaves…

So to make a short story long, give it a go if you're near Narre Warren - maybe they haven't caught on yet!

  • Thanks. got it today morning.

  • The last code is ho ho ho. I can't edit the list anymore.
