  • Thanks just what I needed. My PS4 should be here in a week

War thunder and blacklight retribution are free to play without a PS+ subscription

This block seems very excited with 14 days trial. Lol…
let's see how many games you can finish in 14 days.

Most single player campaigns can be beaten in a day (they're usually 6-8 hours long on average).

Open world is a different story.

The point of trials is to give you a taste of what you get and entice you to pay for a subscription. This is successful if you would never have considered subscribing if not for the free trial.

A 14 day trial is also a good opportunity to get access to these particular games before they are removed from the instant game collection, if you were expecting to get PS+ in the future (eg. when you get a PS4 later on, which would drastically increase the value of having PS+). It would be better to do this towards the end of the month though, so you would also get next month's free games.

      • Hi thanks is there a way to tell when games will expire to download sometimes they tell you when it's available till to download and when it will only be avalable for but I can't find the page ?

        • +1

Just add them to your account via the Sony store webpage..or initiate the download and cancel it via console..and it will be there for you to download whenever….as long as you have PS+ active.

If you mean how to find out when the games leave PS+, I'm not sure if it actually says this on the store or not, but I usually check the EU Playstation Blog. Each month they announce which games are entering and leaving PS+ two weeks in advance. Here is their last announcement, expect a new one within the next few days.

        • Ty just what I was after :)

    • So if I sign up and download the Vita games, I can't play them once the 14 day trial is finished?

      • Nope, not until you restart your subscription to Plus. Subscription costs $69.95 RRP but can be had for less now and then.

        • Missed the last special for 3 free months, is there any places that offer cheaper cards than JB Hifi et. al?

        • No idea mate. I need to top up mine in a few months so I'm keeping an eye out myself.

        • I bought 1 year PS+ and the free games had a 365 day expiry. But then I added another 2 years on top of it, but the expiry is still the original date.. how do I update it so that it doesn't expire until 3 years?

        • Probably will update itself once the timer reaches zero.

Is this a bargain? 14 day trial has always been available for free.

Yeah but bless him, he's like he has just won an Oscar and even gives a shout out to some friends at the end of it.

      • FKNLOL!!!! :P

        • +1

you used to be able to get 30 days for free..

  • Aren't we happy about the free games? Are any of these actually worth the hassle? As mentioned who cares about the free trial.

  • Isn't this how PS Plus always works? The games aren't really free, they're part of the usual PS Plus subscription. I mean sure, you could beat a couple in 2 weeks, but the trial is always available anyway, nothing really new here. People seem to have the impression you get to keep the games after the trial ends, which unfortunately isn't the case; you'll need to renew the subscription to keep them. Don't want to be a buzz kill, but there seems to be some misinformation here?

  • Warthunder and Blacklight are free for non-PS+ members

  • If any of you accepted/used their "Welcome Back Package" where they offered free games and 30 days of PS+ after their network was hacked, you won't be able to use this offer unless you use another PSN account. Not really worth the hassle for 14 days.

    • $5 is $5, combine that with being an ozbargainer means it is worth it ;)
