Just wondering if it's at all possible to get a ps4 before christmas? I have seen all the major retailers say preorder for 2014, but just wondering if anyone knows if there will be any instore anywhere before xmas?
Get a PS4 before Christmas?
Comments
Mine came in yesterday, happy days.
Which store did you get it from? I'm still waiting for my pre-Xmas preorder to arrive from JB
KZ Mega Bundle from EB Games.
Hi Broden
I think rochow is saying you're able to buy one off Gumtree for $1000 not that they're offering one for $1000, I could be wrong though.
I haven't negged him as it's his right to sell his console if he wishes but it reads like he is offering his one.
No fun for christmas then :(
If it helps I could spam you with messages and screenshots showing how much fun I'm having? I could also stream my play showing you what I'm playing live? :p
Ha! Thanks so much for the offer but I think that would kill me :( add me on psn if you want :) Jumpobro
Just got off the PS4, if I forget to add you then send me a request. Same as my username.
Were you still after one?
Were you selling or found somewhere with stock?
PS4's are back in stock in the US. I guess there is hope for Australia.
Would piss off some pre-order people though.Maybe one of the big chains that everyone skipped for pre-ordering will have real stock.
I think Sony said the stock will be coming in February for Aus =(
Even the xbone is sold out at a lot of places now.
Just got a call from Harvey Norman saying my PS4 is in. So I guess some PS4 shipments came in.
If anyone has a spare I would greatly appreciate it. (Sydney area).
Willing to also buy a standalone if anyone wants to help out…willing to pay a bit extra.
As someone who owns a PS4 and has a lot of games for it already I can honestly say you're not missing much yet. The console is good but the games lineup isn't much ahead of PS3 quality so far and the system features are a bit sparse.
Will the ps4 get a revamp like the ps3 into slimmer models?
but in terms of the processor/grunt engine, will future models be any better? Or will it just be aesthetics and minor features/add ons? Guess it's too late as my ps4 order is in from harvey norman now, but just curious.
Where did you get all your games from? anywhere i can order online (cheaper than instore/aus) and get delivery soon within this christmas period?
p.s which games did you find the best? assassins creed? if i were to onyl buy one to keep me occupied till more games come out.. recommendation?
I'm mostly playing FIFA at the moment but that's not everyone's cup of tea.
As someone who has became exceedingly frustrated with the Ass Creed series I can honestly say that this one (Black Flag) is a refreshing change for once. It finally has a lead character I can relate to and a story I wish to learn more about. I can recommend this game wholeheartedly unlike AC1, AC3 and AC Revelations.
Battlefield is amazing when it works right (its still glitchy but they are getting there) and Killzone is great (campaign) but I'm yet to play multiplayer.
The last couple of nights I've actually been playing The Walking Dead on Vita, picked it up for $12.50 on the 12 Days sale. Just 100% finished it, damn it was good.
The GF's order for my bday (placed 10/12/13) just got sent an email saying harvey norman had it available for pickup now.
Problem is she's on holidays and yeah, I'm not sure if they'll accept if i have her photo id and credit card etc (surely if someone has all of this plus the order email they can't be a fake… common sense wise, but yeah doesn't always work out that way IRL).
So try your luck with harvey norman etc - they may have stock in now.
Dick Smith down here touted that they had "1000 additional consoles as they are a priority retailer"
So maybe try them. I expect pure lies. One of the mums at school got one off them when they told her this so who knows.
I don't know about other stores, but for my Dick Smith Highpoint, pre orders for 31/01 shipment are filling out very very fast!
Nobody is concerned about the seeming high rate of failure of early PS4s? (read Amazon reviews)
http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-4/dp/B00BGA9WK2"seeming high rate" :P answered your own question
Maybe I have read too many 1-star reviews, granted…but…hmm…I don't think it's normal. I think Sony have some serious quality issues and corners were cut getting the unit out for Christmas sales.
923 1-star reviews as I write this.
Out of 4,395 customer reviews.923/4395 = 21% giving it a "suck" rating.
Many of these write about failures of the unit after a short time or simply Dead-On-Arrival.Blue Light Of Death owns the early adopter.
Yeah there seem to be a lot but the customers with poor exeriences are much more likely to write reviews. There is 1 year warranty and Sony seems to be saying that the failure rate was something like less than 3%
I wouldn't personally buy from overseas but not a huge deal returning it instore if it doesn't work :)
I switched to reading the Xbox One reviews.
http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Console/dp/B00CMQTVUA18.85% (89) of total reviews (472) giving one-star reviews.
Not much love there either. People with hardware issues. Were both rushed out for the Christmas release? Maybe. Or it could be just normal Version 1 issues blown out of proportion by hardcore early adopters who have waited on their pre-orders for ages and therefore most likely to complain loudly, especially online.
It would be disappointing to get a non-working one, regardless. Version 1 is rarely ever the best implementation.
My one is perfect. Had no issues at all.
A lot of places got some sneaky shipments in on Friday 20th. My work colleague got his from EB games on the 20th. He then proceeded to not want it, as he already had an Xbox One, and put it right up on eBay immediately.
Because logic.
It's possible, yeah. But most stores are sold out until like March now, apparently. Some stores guarantee'd pre-Xmas delivery for next batch, but that was weeks ago. Good luck.
