I don't know whether to wait till xmas sales (if it will even get cheaper) or get a 2nd hand one. My budget is under $150 and looking at a 120GB or larger.
Any advice? Cheers

Best episode ever.
I managed to get the Fifa 12 PS3 320GB slim bundle a few years ago at that crazy Dick Smith sale for around $166 (after my 5% WoolWorths discount lol)….so I'd probably pay around $100'ish maybe?
I think I can haggle down to that. But I like your 320GB price!
For a 120GB, you wouldn't want to pay any more than $100…
Edit: 2nd hand that is
Reconsidering I'm likely wrong
Are PS3s as reliable (or unreliable) as a PC? I've got a working PC which is ancient now but I've heard of strange lights of death on PS3s, so maybe an extra $100 in my budget is worth it for a new one??
Slim and super-slim models are the most reliable. Tbh, you're not going to find many second hands for under $100, let alone $140. I'd pick up a nice $300 bundle with 4-5 games if I were you.
I see one 120GB and one 350GB for $140 each second hand. I'm thinking $100 is a good price with xmas coming up.
I sold my 120GB slim with no games for $100 about 2 months ago.
Brand new, $150, second hand $100.
I was lucky enough to get a 160GB slim from BigW a few months back for $148.
I was expecting Kmart to clear out their old stock before Christmas as well but it hasn't happened yet.
Problem with second hand is they are at that price where people just can't be bothered selling them.
Good games are still coming out on the PS3 and will do for the next year or so before we only see games exclusive to the the PS4 (I reckon when GT7 comes out it will be a good time to buy a PS4)
