  Bought that box set back in 2008. It's a very crappy package, the discs slide into hard cardboard slots and had a fair few scratches when i checked them all.

  It has been 5 years since that, but it looks like they haven't done anything to prevent scratches going off the comments.

      I haven't had any issues returning scratched disc's to Amazon in the past, but I can see your point.

      Factor those in to the cost if helps, (I happened to have 2 boxes of 6 disc blank DVD cases lying around when I bought mine) otherwise, probably not worth it for you.

    yep, that's why I would NOTtouch this version as the DVDs are in Cardboard holders that have been reported as scratching the crap out of the DVDs.

    I think it was atleast partly because the first few seasons weren't shot with good enough cameras, and also something like the effects were added in afterwards using a method that they would have to entirely re-do from scratch in order to create a bluray transfer. (IIRC)

      Yeah, currently there are no plans to release SG-1 bluray.

      Seasons 1-7 were shot on 16mm/35mm and only 8-10 were shot digitally. The return on investment for the process given the availability of DVD makes it highly unlikely.

  Will rip 'em all to a hard drive and keep that packaging mint.
  Looking forward to an SG1-Athlon next year.
  Wonder if episode 1 has the boobies in it or is it cut!?

    It will have the boobies. Final Cut was only ever released as a standalone DVD.
