Long time lurker, first time poster.
I suspect this could be a pricing error, but thought it was worth a go and booked flights from SYD to HNL for $528.40 USD. Departing 17/12/13 Returning 26/12/13.
Not too sure if this qualifies as a bargain as it seems to be a limited offer of "3 tickets left at this price".
Found the flights through adioso.com which redirected to the cheapoair.com website. Tried a few dates from 15/12/13 and still came up with the same price.
jetstar.com shows the same flights for $1381.68 AUD + Fees.
I rang Jetstar to try a pricematch but they said they don't pricematch their own flights.
Fingers Crossed!
Edit: Received a "Booking Receipt" with this disclaimer…
Flight Booking Status: We are processing your reservation and will send you confirmation once this has been completed and a ticket has been issued. Please note that your purchase will be complete only after the ticket has been issued, and during this time period, the fares are subject to change and may increase. In the rare event fares increase, you may opt to cancel your booking at no cost to you.
Edit: Received the following in an email…
* Due to the airline(s) not confirming your booking, we were unable to issue your tickets.
We have searched our system and have found alternate flight options for you. Please click on the “View Alternate Flights” link below to view the options available to you.
You have the RIGHT to cancel this booking. If you choose to cancel, there is absolutely no service fee and no cancellation cost to you.*
The Alternate flights offered cost $12746.00+$314.96(taxes)=$13060.96 flying Qantas…
It's interesting that they place the blame on Jetstar. I contacted Jetstar, and they found the booking on their system but it had not been completed by Cheapoair…
I suspect that Cheapoair is more at fault here than Jetstar.
Lesson Learnt.. Avoid Cheapoair..
Thanks for the post OP. Shame I won't be able to take annual leave until after New Year's.
