Currently DJ have 20% off dyson so the dc54 is on sale at $639 and for today only they also have a additional 15% off appliances if you spend over $100. But those that have registered for the Amex cash back can get another $100 cash back if you split the payment.. For a final price of $443.32. I am not sure if this is a mistake as I had to show the website discount on my phone for the guy to give it to me at $543.32.

I didn't have to persuade them.. splitting a payment to pay by 2 methods is a normal practice..
To clarify there is only one receipt, its just that the total payment is paid by 2 cards.. $250 in one card and $293.32 in the other card (my wife's supplementary card which links to the same account).

That doesn't make sense.. Its $50 off every $250 spend.. So you won't get it free regardless of how many Amex you have.
Exactly, its not cumulative, same like the westfield $10 credit, only for 1 card/account for each statement credit.
You can post many items with this feature as DJ has many sales on their electricals.
The sale is 15% off full priced items and not an additional sale on reduced items. The salesperson has clearly made a mistake. All the best for others trying to do the same.

It's a mistake on the website but not on the counter, I checked, the guy said the discounts are from full price, so they give you the most 1x discount against the full price, not double discounts.
Well.. you dont have to convince anyone if you want to buy it for $493.32 (after amex). you can do it from the website… I would say they made a mistake as well on the website so I just bought 'Dyson DC54 Allergy Barrel ' for $561
Agreed, you could return the machine (assuming if you already bought it), buy it online (get both discounts) and pick it up in store. DJ are of course well within their right to refuse the sale if it is deemed a pricing error…
Is there a way to split the payments online within 2 credit cards ? I had a look but couldn't find the way..the DJ is far away from my location..

I tried when I bought. WELCOME and TERATME5 doesn't work give you extra $15 off.
well it does something on the background but doesn't make the final price cheaper.
This price is likely to be a mistake, so can't complain too much.
They are single use codes. If you have an online shopping account with DJs & have used the codes already they won't work again as system knows your account has applied them previously :) I got a message at top screen 'invalid code - redeemed previously' or something like that when I tried to reuse them for another deal recently.
Others report that if you use 'guest' checkout they continued to work for multiple online purchases. Worth trying.

if you $543.32, it is same as without the codes.
You can't advertise AMEX cashback price with TWO AMEX cards in split payment… Most of us would only have been registed for one.

It IS a mistake HOWEVER, they cannot stop it at the moment and stores are price matching their own website.
I bought mine last week and was told it could not be done because it is EXACTLY what the T&C's state. This week though, they are now honouring it and are even REFUNDING the difference to anyone who bought it last week during the 20% off sale and was told no.
Just because something shows online doesn't mean it's right - DJ's have every right to stop those orders and may still do so (it is an invitation to treat only, not a right to buy at that price). The fact that they're honouring it only demonstrates how good they are with their customers.
No need to be smart about it.
I was just replying to your comment where you were being condescending and implying that it was impossible to get the additional discount even though I said in my original post that I had already purchased it..
I did indicate however that it was potentially an error on the website but they were honouring it in store..
Anyway I am glad that you got the difference refunded on the price that you paid last week..
If they're honouring it then I was cheated as the guy clearly said NO. I guess different DJ staff have different opinions.
I think you should call up DJ head office and mention other people got the difference refunded. Good luck.

OPs, thank you thank you. Just came back from Parramatta DJ. I got the DC 54 animal pro for $747.32. Split payment over 3 registered Amex cards (I bought other thing to make the last payment over $250). My Out of pocket for the dyson is $597.32. Great bargain. The guy at DJ was extremely helpful, he couldn't locate the last available at first and took his time to find it for me. 2 out of 3 DC54 animal pro was on hold and I got the last one. Very lucky.

Just got dc54 animal for $580 .. did 10% price beat at masters and then used the gift cards ( purchased thru ing direct ) to get additional 5% discount so masters price was $611 and then further 5 % thru ing !! DJ price was $680 .. i didnt had amex offer !!
