    Their motives are indeed questionable. I believe the ACCC would love to hear all about their deceptive and misleading practice.

    Do fishpond have an ABN? Can't seem to easily locate it, on their website. Need it to lodge ACCC complaint.
    If their reason was 'pricing error', then I'd have no issues with it. But to sell the item in a staggered sale method (the more that sold, the higher the price became in short-order, and then 'no stock'), and then back out with the poor excuse of an email, is not acceptable.

      This is from their Ts & Cs:
      "Cancelling Orders: Fishpond reserves the right to cancel orders for any reason or to cancel the purchase agreement after order confirmation, including (without limitation) where Fishpond believes the order to be fraudulent or constitute a mis-use of a promotional or marketing activity or where an error has occurred including but not limited to errors relating to pricing. If we do cancel your order or purchase agreement, we accept no liability for any resulting damages or costs suffered by you, however we will refund the purchase price to you (where it has already been paid)."

      Ie, 'we can say what we want then cancel your order'

      • Those terms seem to undermine the whole law of contractual agreements. How can there ever be an agreement if one party has an unconditional option to terminate?

        Is there not a rule that states with sites, without ABN number displayed were not to have deals posted here?

        I want to be sure it is the correct entity, before lodging an ACCC complaint. Won't be buying anything from them anymore, but their deceptive conduct needs to be reported.

        Anyone with an old receipt/invoice, that may have the ABN/ACN listed on it?

  • Mine says it has been shipped (ordered just before posting this deal). Will update if it arrives. Guess stock was really low.

    • How much did you pay for yours? I paid the lowest amount ($15) and they gave me an out of stock excuse.

    My order from 25/11 is still "processing", whereas one person at least from this deal has had his/her order shipped. Oldest orders should be filled first. That's just Business 101. Terse email sent to FP.

      Quite strange that my order from 25/11 is also still under processing status whereas my $15 order got through.

      I had to write them an email to get them to refund to my PP account. I was wondering why they hadn't refunded the money 24 hours after the order cancellation.

      I shouldn't have to write or complain to get my money refunded— what the hell kind of business keeps their customer's money until they ask for it back -_-;

  • Just an update. The Chromecast arrived today. Incidentally, the one I ordered on 25/11 has just been shipped.

          $15 is a bargain if they do all they say they do.

        • Another update. Second chromecast arrived today :P

        • So will these broadcast without chrome on a pc for example. I was using an LG DP1W to stream from my PC to a TV, until it died a couple of days ago. I use PS3 mediaserver as the PC app to serve files. Have used Tversity and a couple others but I settled on PS3 mediaserver app due to configuration settings and reliability. My network is not secure as I like to share my net connection with my neighbour so I cant just secure my stuff via the router. So I use an app like PS3 mediaserver instead and just approve static IPs.

          So will chromecast work with this? Or do I need to use chrome? Im kind of tossing up what to get, a WDTV WiFi Streamer, maybe set up a NAS and hook it directly to the TV, and network it with the PC, or something Im yet to discover.
