Burleigh, Gold coast is honouring the online price errors. So man of steel is $7 instore there.

    • thanks for the info, hopefully I can find Iron Man 3 at my local for $8.50

  • Placed order, paid by PayPal, then when it went back to big W it said no items in cart, and I wasn't logged in. Not sure if it's processed or not! No emails just 1 from PayPal

    • Log into your paypal account and see your recent activity. It should appear more or less immediately .. If it does not appear as a 'In progress' status. If its showing on paypal it means its been paid.

Alternatively call them on 1300 244 999 and speak to one of their friendly customer service representatives.

      • Cheers, just says pending.

Put another order in and worked straight away, guess we'll see what happens.

It would appear that the site doesn't like multiple tabs when checking out.

  • I'm trying to add to cart but says nothing is in it???

  • +1

Looks like pricing errors online. what is the chance that BigW won't honour orders?

  • +1

So is anything even half price anywhere?
    Any chance jbhifi price match?

  • +1

Awesome, picked up MoS, Star trek and WWZ for $24 including delivery. Fingers crossed that this isn't another Good guys mess up.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Looks like Big W is doubly discounting a lot of things, based on online prices from yesterday. Got almost everything I wanted and some more, hopefully they will honour the pricing!

Same with books, you can read them all at the store or from a library. Paying for haircuts ? No way just put a bowl over your head and follow the line. For more savings you can also eat leftover food from the trash.

        • +2

I think that was for a comedic effect, the comparison with reading books at the library to save money is a perfect analogy though

you can stop embarrassing yourself now

In your own words it's "Cheaper, easier, more accessible".

        • +6

(My personal opinion, not BIG W's or a way to make people buy more)

Hey, I know it sucks been poor, and I'm sure it's easy to be a thief.

Hell, I do it myself via sickbeard/couchpotato on my NAS but if something is enjoyable and worth watching then why not give the people that create such content the money they deserve?

There's plenty of rubbish that I wouldn't waste money on, but at these prices, how about you buy and give these Blu-rays to family and friends that will watch them who don't have a media set up like you?

Breaking Bad Complete Series for $74? Sure, instant buy. 3D movies under $10? all over it.
          Thanks OP

I've got plenty of money and like to own the real thing, not to mention supporting the industry I enjoy. I guess welfare only covers your foxtel connection, ISP and pizza diet?

        • -1

lol, like most people with money you think everyone else is fat and unemployed.

          Classic you!

        • +3

It's ok giggles, maybe 1 day you'll actually contribute to this site, rather than feeding off everyone else

        • o O snap!

Picked up the bond 50 Blu-ray set… Scanned at about $75…super…it was shown as out of stock in store and online. Managed to find 2 boxes tucked away at the cross Rd store in Adelaide.

    • Damn it cant't find it anywhere, wanted it badly. Any chance you want to part with one or got one extra :D

      • +2

yeah youll find it on ebay for $150

      • I was almost going to buy both… But ended up with one only. Sorry…

  • They won't price match man kf steel many in store for$20??!

  • is there going to be another 'good guys' moment to come with wrong pricing?

    • I've always got my orders from big w that were pricing errors. touches wood

      • +1

last bigw bluray i ordered was cancelled
was the back to the future set…

  • Top ryde has no bray box dam :(

  • GUYS THIS INCLUDES PREORDERS.

Just got Futrama and Elysim at an awesome price :D

  • +3

I just took screen shots from the big W website and my tax invoice from this morning back to Big W in Forrest Hill and they just refunded me $100 … means i ended up paying the following:

    Star Wars Set $29.50
    Avenger 3D: $ 11.00
    Despicable Me $3.98
    Despicable Me 2 $8.50
    This is The end $8.50
And so on…. Seems the managers will price match the online price if u can prove it.. glad i made up a document with What I paid.. and what it is online and took screen shots.. worth the trip back… means i have gotten 75% off most items :P

Thank you Big W and your Glitchy system :)

  • Ask 5 staff, was told that online is differnt department! Wtf?

  • on the phone with bigw w customer service to have the order amended, unbelievable prices

  • Called up just now, Taff asked a manager and said for the price online if u want that price you would have to buy from their, so they don't :(

  • Too bad you cant filter on in stock items.
Nothing i really want, despite the awesome prices.

  • +1

man you guys buying instore for these prices are lucky. Just got back from my 3 locals, 2 gave me a dumb look and all of a sudden seemed to not understand english, and the 3rd informed me that they are not affiliated with the bigw website (after showing them the site on my phone). Awkward moments to be sure.

Got a few online though so not a complete loss.

  • So whats the story with refunds if its cheaper online? there's a couple of blue rays i bought today but are cheaper online

    • +1

from what i am reading, its store dependant.
I was able to get all the ones i bought this morning refunded and re-sold to me at the online price ($29.50 for star wars for example)
but also people are being told that some managers won't do it etc etc … its hit and miss from what i can make out

is it just me but is that not marked down?

    • It doesn't show as half price but $19 for 3D is good..

      almost $40 at JB
      http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/dvd-genres/action-adventu…

      • +1

but i could get it for $10^^

        • +1

LMAO.. i think its one of the ones that is priced right.. X-Men Collection for example was $68 yesterday and is still $34 today… only some have been errors lol… but $19 is pretty fair if u want it lol

        • +1

          i called up.

Apparently theirs a few blu rays which weren't marked down. The girl told me to buy it with click and collect and they will send me a gift card for the difference as its a mistake.

        • Very Nice :P a true ozbargainer :P

  • Hmmm, seems all my online ones have gone into a Backordered status on their website, even though most of those titles are still available to purchase online :/ Kinda wish I'd chosen click and collect now!

  • +1

Ordered Star Trek and Man Of Steel 3D blu rays. Then decided to poke around online to see what else I could find…

    Despicable Me $3.99
    Despicable Me 2 (3D) $9.5o
    The Hunger Games $4.99
    Thor $6
    The Great Gatsby $4.75
    Monsters University 3D $11
    Madagascar 3 (3D) $7

Saw Wolrd War Z (3D) for $11 but wasn't a big fan of the movie.

    • u just stole despicable me 2 and hunger games off me:( had it in my cart now out of stock. hate you^^

    • Did you Click and Collect for those? or delivery? Just wondering if other people's non Click and Collect orders are in backordered status…

      • Delivery. Just ordered as a guest and payed via Paypal. Got all of the right emails from Big W and Paypal, but not checked my order status. They were all in stock online when I ordered.

        • Yeah that's the same as me pretty much, got the order confirmation and tax invoice but now sitting in Backordered…just hoping I get them really! Ordered in the morning too!

        • same here. every item in my order is 'backordered'.

  • +1

heres my collection from 2 big w stores, though might return a few:(

    https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/14766…

  • Only good stuff iv picked up from then are the resident evil 3d trilogy paid $10 nix each speratly and the walking dead season 3 for $27, although I downloaded it, I always prefer to have a physical collection.
If someone some how could tell me which stores did a $7 man of steel I would appreciate it, cause paid $22 and many more, I will head down to that store and talk to the manager…

  • its an online price ^

  • Is it just me or the online system is at it again, I can't add pay for anything, just disappears right after going to payment lol.
I don't see how online and instore are any differnt, it's the same freaking company! Look at officewoeks for. Example, they are great at price matching their site if store costs more. I will never understand how such company like Biw W won't honour their prices.

  • +2

Just hope Big W don't f*ck us over with the online blu ray sale like the Good Guys did with their recent online game sale.

  • +1

I gave up: after placing 5 online items in my cart, by the time I got to checkout only 1 was available to deliver.

Considering the interest in these, the retailers can't complain things aren't selling if they reduce the prices enough: it's their insistence on charging obscene markups compared to the rest of the world that creates the lack of sales.

  • -2

I bought Star Wars this morning for $59 checked online was $29 Called the store Waverley Gardens, the girl said that online prices are different, I asked to speak to a manager and he said to bring in the receipt and refunded the difference so in essence got the Star Wars Bluray complete saga for under $30. I wouldn't settle for online are different crap, that's the price online they have to match it as it states no exceptions. I would threaten them with going to consumer affairs and they will buckle.

  • +1

This is still available. Too bad I have 4 of the 5 already:
    http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/dvds-blu-ray/action-adv…

  • i got alot of stuff but couldnt get it as cheap as the website prices, bu ti am happy to pay what i did.

  • +4

Having bought dvd's from BigW before: they will say "back ordered" even when fine to be delivered as they get shipped from a different warehouse so they are not tracked in the normal fashion.

    • thanks for clarifying

  • Placed two orders yesterday. Recieved a positive sounding confirmation on the early one, however logging in reveals "Order status: Please Contact Customer Service" on the second one (which consists of crazy priced 3D Blu's like Monsters University, Despicable Me 2, MOS, STID). Anyone else got this message?

    • My orders are just in processing stage with back ordered as the current status.

  • +1

Hmm my order status is empty, the movies are backordered :/

    • +1

Mine are too, spoke to big w and they have said my order will be back in stock on the 16th and shipped after that

  • Backorders here as well with not an email telling me so: Star Trek Into Darkness 3D and Man of Steel 3D.

  • +1

Good guys fiasco allllll over again. Buckle up ladies and gents!

  • there's no cancellation email surprisingly… but my order details are gone, showing page not found since Saturday :(

    • Did you get an email tax invoice?

      • +1

        yes I got it yesterday

      • Got mine, but does that mean I'll actually get the blu-rays? Guess we'll see…

  • I placed my order at 6:30am on Saturday, so I rang Big W customer service

The orders have all gone to a 3rd party vendor, they are all on back order, they do not know when they will ship, if you had these for Christmas presents it is unlikely you will recieve them before Christmas

Depending on your order YMMV, for the price I'll wait for the stock to arrive

    • +1

Kinda weird they don't know how long it'll take, but they know how many they have to "sell".

      • Thats the point, they don't, they are just handing off all the orders to the vendor to supply directly, so Big W themselves have no stock

I would expect long delays and cancellations, at $7 each I can imagine people buying 20 or 30 of each for resale

        • I read this is usually the case with Big W online in regards to blurays being supplied by another party.

        • Man, I hope not! I would be extremely disappointed! LOL

        • +2

They rang me this morning! Stock is due with their vendor on 16th December so they will supply then, guess we'll play the waiting game :)

  • +1

I won't be returning my instore purchases until the cheaper online purchases are in my hands.

Post here if/when you get them!

  • Movies are all on back order.
But if you go into big W, there's plenty of bluray avaliable :(

  • +1

I called the other day and was told they'd be shipping mine out on the 17th cos half of my order was out of stock (even though on the website it shows all of them as backorder). Was told the ones that are in stock might ship before then, but not to get my hopes up of getting them before Christmas…

    • +2

Got a message from Big W stating that items have been dispatched.

  • Same here, but for my second order, not the first. Still waiting to hear about Man of Steel and Star Trek: Into Darkness 3d blu rays.

  • The Hobbit has randomly gone from my order, but total is still the same… Anyone else?

    • +1

Online chat, all good, all shipped yesterday :)

  • +1

Just checked my order. Man of Steel 3d, Star Trek 3d just changed their status from back ordered to in progress. Epic 3d and Despicable Me 3d still say back ordered. So a bit more confident I will receive them now at the $7 prices.

  • +1

so at the moment 6 of my blurays are still sitting on backordered while the hobbit is currently "In Process" however I also have the following message "There was an issue with an item in your order.
Your card payment will be refunded the amount paid for this item. The refund will take 3 to 5 business days to show back into your account, dependent on your financial institution processing times."

The item in question is Star Trek Into Darkness (Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy) Blu-ray …dammit still if that's the only one that doesn't arrive then I'll still be pretty happy.

    • So I just got an email explaining that the Star Trek Into Darkness (Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy) Blu-ray I ordered isn't available and they are going to be subbing it with just Star Trek Into Darkness Bluray without dvd/digital but they also threw in a $10 evoucher which I think is pretty cool and essentially makes this bluray completely free :D

They also offered a refund if I'd prefer but I'm gonna take the bluray after all who uses dvds anymore anyway….

  • +1

1/3 of my order is "In Progress" rest back ordered.

  • All of my 9 are still on backorder

Lucky you guys got Star Trek, when I ordered it was out of stock :(

    • Looks like I did order it heh but it's not showing in my order page which is weird

  • Mine has "in progress" for star trek into darkness, "back ordered" for MOS, Desp Me 2, and Arthur Christmas. Hope I get them soon…

    EDIT:
Did a chat session, big w guy said they shipped out of QLD warehouse 13th, and to allow 5-10 days for delivery.

  • +2

Got my delivery today. All good.

    • Awesome! Which state? QLD?

  • +3

Unfortunately, we’ve been unable to supply you with the ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’ 3D Blu-ray DVD version with two discs (BIGW_AID124393) you originally ordered. In its place, we will be sending the ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’ 3D Blu Ray DVD, however it does not include the Digital Copy feature. We do apologise for any disappointment.

Of course, if you are not satisfied with the suggested replacement, we'll happily give you a refund. Just return it to your nearest BIG W store, or reach us via our contact us page and we'll arrange a cancellation and refund for you. Whichever works best.

We do apologise for this and would like to offer you a $10 eVoucher that you can use to discount any purchase made online at www.bigw.com.au before the end of this year.

So - is this still a 3D Blu-Ray without the digital version? If so i'm fine with that. Digital is pointless. Edit: yep looks like it's this http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/dvds-blu-ray/science-fi…
