Garmin Forerunner 910XT Triathlon Bundle - $419

80

I know this one is fairly niche but I've been looking at getting one of these watches and keeping an eye on various auctions - but I then spotted 99 Bikes have it reduced from $499 down to $419 (which is the best price I could find for the Tri bundle - even cheaper than getting one from abroad)

But then the deal got even better when I went into Rebel Sport and they matched the $419 price, and beat it by 10% - meaning I ended up paying $377.10 (Plus I can claim the GST back through TRS later this month!)

  • Is this a normal policy for rebel sports to pricematch?

    • +1

Apparently it's a standard policy (though not advertised).

I queried this on their Facebook page and they confirmed :

The store staff seemed to know about it too - said if it's an online store, they must also have a retail presence. Said they will price match if it's a similar product (eg. diff colour etc.), or price beat by 10% if it's exactly the same product, and it's available. (They even had a code for it on their POS system)

  • Can you post the receipt please? I'll need to convince Rebel Sports to price match it!

  • Is this model much better than the older 310XT? I got that one in the US a few days ago for USD 170 (no tax) shipped to hotel with heart rate strap.

    • Unless you cycle a lot it's not worth it. I've had my 310XT for 3 and a half years and it hasn't missed a beat. Battety is still good for a bout a week and a bit. I run about 50k's a week.

I can't see any real advantage of upgrading to the 910XT until mine dies.

Swimming is the biggest improvement from the reviews I've read

I have a really old 305 which isn't even water/rain proof so it was a worthwhile upgrade for me and at this price it was a steal

  • The accessories alone add up to quite a bit.

The bike cadence sensor it $60. I can't remember how much i paid for the HR monitor but it wans't cheap either.

All up a great bundle price.

    • The HRM and cadence are about $60 each, so thats $120 in accessories

  • I got this for $445 a year ago from these guys: http://www.cycleogical-online.com.au/product_info.php?produc… I use it weekly, mostly just in the gym. But its great for the bike and a few laps of the pool too. Its too bulky tho to wear day to day

$349 w/ shipping if you don't need the HRM and cadence sensor

    • Yeah - not really comparable though as those two extra alone would cost you over $100 (if you wanted them of course)

Plus you get the quick release kit too
