Looking to book flights to USA East Coast in April next year.
Wouldn't mind a stop over for a couple of days, somewhere on the way there and back home.
Would avoid LA airport if possible. Love to go via Dallas or other smaller airports, even Canada.
This is our semi-retirement-present, so hope to do in business class (read here in OB that lots of premium economy are not worthwhile considering).
Cathay Pacific via Bris> HK > US is over $8k.
China Southern website is a pain to look at.
Some said Air NZ is not as luxurious.
Would love an all-flat bed plus other perks.
Or is it a right time to look now? Perhaps I should check after Christmas?
Any sharing much appreciated.
I just randomly thought of Vancouver as a nice place to stop.
Check out Skyscanner.net and it comes up with a China Southern Business Class flight for about $4500(ish). This is via Guangzhou. The perk here is, I believe (and I could be wrong), that you'd get an A380 with a fully flat bed. Access to the new lounge there should be included also and the stop would only be 4.5 hours. Enough time to freshen up.
Relax there for as long as you'd like (great place if you haven't been before?). Then I'd look at internal flights to NYC from there, if you were so inclined, which could be about $1500 (the dreaded United, but biz class should be OK).
Just a thought. I'm sure others will come up with better/cheaper alternatives, but that was a quick glance.
Otherwise, if you're feeling lazy, Flightfox could be a valuable tool for you.
Cheers
