Universal Ethernet WiFi adapter

Hi, trying to connect my Panasonic BTT190 home theatre to my WiFi. There is a specific Panasonic branded dingle, but have seen people have success with others namely the net gear WNCE2001 and 3001.

Also considering something that I can plug into my old Xbox 360 with same Ethernet port.

$50 seems the norm for the 2001, $70 for the 3001. Anyone got any leads?

Using Wifi stick at home at the mome - far too expensive. What's the best deal I can get for Home use of internet & data / downloads - no contracts - is it just as easy as buying a modem? - if so, do I need to get a carrier - and whom? The big T Is far too expensive for my passive budget.

  • You can do this by using a router that can be put in bridge mode. I did it a few years ago with a $19 Edimax router.

    • Yeah, cheap router and DDWRT to the rescue. Most semi-techie people I know have one behind the telly serving their bluray, HTPC, console etc.

      • You might not even need to install DDWRT. Some routers such as the cheap edimax ones already have “AP Bridge Mode” built in.

  • OOo I got the $5 MSY router. Will give that a go!
