Baileys The Original Irish Cream is an iconic blend of fresh Irish cream, selected spirits and Irish Whiskey. Liquorland and First Choice have a "We'll beat any Dan Murphy's price" on Baileys at the moment so expect it to be $21.75 with them tomorrow.

      • +1

and dan mnurphys will beat that wont they, and and and
        Soon they'll be free

    • Liquorland has a price match guarantee? I find that hard to believe as they are the supermarket branch of coles. Everything is expensive there, like BWS and local liquor.

I'm pretty sure it's only DM and First Choice that will price match.

They also have a gift set with a couple of glasses for $7 more.

    Best drunk from a shoe..

    • Whats wrong with Baileys Irish Cream? Its my favorite drink.

  • For those who aren't aware you can make your own "irish cream" far cheaper yourself using any of the many recipes available online.

First ingredient, a $27 bottle of scotch

      • How much whisky/ey do you actually require per recipe…?

        • +2

The recipe linked elsewhere calls for 1 2/3 cups of Irish Whiskey (about 417ml).

The cheapest Irish Whiskey on the Dan Murphy's site is Finnlaigh for $36.99. It is 700ml, so 5.28428c per ml - $22.04 worth of whiskey for the recipe.

Then you need the other ingredients, plus time and effort, and it only keeps for 2 months.

        • +1

That's 2/3 cup Nixi, not 1.67 cups. 2/3 cup is 167mls or about 1/4 bottle ($9-10) in round figs. The other ingredients will set you back $5 or so if you don't already have them. It takes sfa effort to make a brew which is better than the original imo.

  • A true ozbargainer would make their own

At the end of the day, not one of the home made baileys taste the same or have the same "feel" on the tongue (thickeners).
I have tried most recipes on the net.
I also tried these methods http://www.distillspirits.com.au/
It gets closest of all, but you still need to buy thickening agents, creamer etc and the extra effort isnt worth it IMHO.

I bought a couple of cases at the price above, cheap for Australia.
