SteelSeries Qck Heavy Gaming Mousepad ($20 + $5.50 Shipping)

70

One of the best gaming mouse pad's on the market at the moment. Big and really smooth. I know some people will chuckle at paying 20 bucks for a pd, but for those more serious gamer's out there, this is a good deal.

  • Love this mouse pad, would be one if I already didn't have 2 special editions :)

  • Had mine for about 3 years now, all need to do is wipe it with a damp cloth once a week and it drys in 2mins.

  • just ordered :) my other one is pretty old now. Do they deliver with aus post?

  • Says $5.95 shipping for me from hardly normal

  • hardly norman has shipping costs like 14$.

    • True that, I'll remove it not worth it for 15

  • cant buy this

not paying $10 for a mouse and $20 for a mousepad

    • U talking about the steelseries kinzu v2. Yeh I got that as well for a backup mouse its terrible bro. Try and pick up a g400s or da on cyber Monday.

      • What's terrible about it? Seems fine to me.

Would be better if freight was free but o well.

  • What makes this mouse pad so good?

  • Really, mousepads cost that much? I have the diablo 3 steelseries one (got free with graphics card) didn't know they cost that much.

    • I guess if you play online fps for MMOs not so much

    • Those branded ones are only 20bucks at EB and such, there tiny and thin compared to these ones.

eStore on eBay - $25 inc shipping

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SteelSeries-QcK-heavy-63008-Mouse…

50 cents cheaper than here lol

    • only 1 left on the ebay, hurry peeps

    • cheers, took the last one :)

  • Can some one describe the material to me please? I find that those 'wetsuit' type mouse pads get frayed and rolled at the edges too quick for me and generally they are too small for my liking.

I guess thinking about it my ideal mousepad is heavy, thin, low friction and big like A4 or up to A3 size … any of you afficionados got a suggestion for what I'm after?

    • its a durable fabric. I find it nicer to play compared to the plastic pads which I do not like at all. Reviews for this mat are very favorable, so you shouldn't be left dissapointed.

Got a call and email from Estore saying that the mouse pad "is obsolete so it is no longer available". They offered Steelseries 4HD as a replacement or a refund. Any one else get this?

    • Hey, I got the same call, I've got no idea if the 4HD is any good…
What do you guys recommend? Full refund or go for the 4HD?

      • Well, by the looks of it the Qck is a smooth cloth pad, whereas the 4HD is a hard plastic textured pad.
Apparently the 4HD has better tracking but the retail price is pretty much $20-30… so estore aren't giving us any favors…

Does the dimensions of the mouse pad matter to you?

        QcK Heavy:

        Height: 6 mm (0.2 in)
        Width: 450 mm (17.7 in)
        Length:** 400 mm (15.7 in)

        9HD:

        Height: 2 mm (0,08 in)
        Width: 320 mm (12,6 in)
        Length: 270 mm (10,6 in)

        4HD:

        Height: 2 mm (0,08 in)
        Width: 290 mm (11,4 in)
        Length: 240 mm (9,4 in)

Just off the top of my head (will probably fail to mention some things):

        • Most mice will track better on hard surfaces.

        Examples:
        - Abyssus will jitter on Cloth pads but will track perfectly on a Hard pad.
        - G500 / Xai have Perfect Control speed problems on Cloth pads but not Hard pads.

        • Hard pads have faster glide while Cloth pads offer resistance giving you better control over your mouse.

Note: Different materials and weaving (cloth pads) offer varying levels of smoothness of the surface, speed of the glide and ease of stopping the mouse. Also factor into account your the mouse skates you use and how worn out they are.

        • Hard pads wear out mouse skates faster than Cloth pads.

        • Scratchy sound (friction from mouse and mousepad) may be of annoyance (low sensitivity users in particular will have it worse - constant lifting of mouse and mouse cable hitting the Hard pad).

        • Hard pads are easier to clean while Cloth pads are dust magnets however from experience Cloth pads last longer..
If you're looking for portability, then a cloth pad would be more suitable.

Whether you choose a Hard pad or Cloth pad (or even a Hybrid) will depend on your preferences, the game(s) you play and how you play.

Note: The design and textures of the pad (materials, colour…etc) will have an impact on the performance of the mouse sensor.

Personally, I would go for a full refund. Save the cash and get something suitable for your needs not because they ran out of stock.
