[I live in Perth, so let me translate their spin into reality]
Now is the time to go to Perth because the flights are cheap. Not much has changed, the shops still close early and everyone's in bed by 9. The beaches are nice and there's plenty of them (mind the pet sharks). We also have lots of sunlight to go around, but it's really expensive. The Swan Valley is half an hour from Perth, but don't expect any of the restaurants to be open at 8pm on a Tuesday night.
Something something culture.
Anyway, if you're up for something different and want to get a cheap flight west, go for it.
I'm going to Melbourne on Monday using the $10 tickets I booked in April this year through a deal I found on OzBargain, so I hope this submission helps someone in return.
