I find it irritating that some seller are flooding OzBargain with multiple deal/post on the same day.
Should there be a rule of 1 post/person/site/day? Merchant who tries to get around this with multiple accounts would get IP ban.

Let's have a vote to see whether we should restrict merchants to have maximum 1 offer per day? :) I was not going to force it because I feel the real dodgy ones would just create multiple accounts and post them. However with sockpuppeting policy in place, we can effectively ban the merchants that wrongfully use multiple accounts.
Meanwhile, vote with your -1 (+ comments) if you feel the merchants have been spamming the site.
Just my opinion - Ideally merchants should be using accounts to respond to queries, with voting disabled, and the posting of deals should be left to the community. i.e no submitting for merchants.
As a merchant I'm happy to stand back and let the community decide what should be posted and shouldn't, besides I imagine that half the pleasure for regular members comes from spotting the deals and merchants constantly highlighting their latest $1 discount is kind of super lame.

I think OzBargain has grown to a point that we do not really rely on merchants to come in and post their own offers. Maybe at some point we'll stop merchant posting or at least in some way throttle it (maximum 1/day?) Still need to think it through though, as it probably means more work for the moderators here to catch people going the dodgy way to put more offers on OzBargain.
Merchants with one post a day gets a big thumbs up from me.
For one thing I think it avoids the problems of having to decide what to do with spammers.
I also think it encourages merchants to be more discriminating with what they post. Good for them and the members,
Hell I'd love to see merchants held to a certain average, but thats just me :P
