My best suggestion is to check with Medibank on what your optical extras allows you to claim for. I know it's not ideal and requires a bit of legwork, but if you can claim optical, you "should" be able to claim contact lenses. Hopefully a phone call can clear it up for you.

My claim with hbf has been processing for 3 days and hasnt heard anything back from them.
They usually handle within 1 working day. Making me worry now.

Can you confirm if your claim with hbf was for the WELCOME offer, as I have now understood that you cannot claim a $0 order for contact lenses i.e. shipping cannot be claimed for with your health fund. But it is worth checking with your health fund before purchasing anyhow.
