RAGE is a good 20GB download btw.
The game does have some cool features. An example would be if you shoot an enemy in the foot, he will limp on that foot and react realistically.
The downside to the game is that the textures are quite poppy. If you turn in a direction like 180 degrees it will take a moment for the textures to load. I believe this is one of the first games to use "mega-textures" which are highly detailed. If you have a high-end rig you should be able to run this on max settings and perhaps not run into the popping textures.
The world is quite nice and differs. Driving seems a bit strange.
Is a pretty fun game, I remember first exiting the capsule into the world and just being blown away by the detail, and that was on the crappy looking PS3 version :P
Surprised at the number of poor user reviews, but they all seem to relate to technical issues.
It's because you need a decent rig to run the game.
It was like in 2009 (or 08) when GTA IV was released on PC. It was a dodgy port, so people needed a really high end PC to actually run it smoothly. I built a PC in 2011 and I still cannot run it on ultra.
I read in reddit that it's not even worth to download 20gb of a pirated copy. Also I've seen it $4.99 a couple of times.
Good thing its free. A weekend may be enough to pass the entire game. Its fun, in parts with lots of sidegames, but nothing really fleshed out.
