Very cool printer. I did have some customers who had endless trouble setting up the wireless with it but I figured it out pretty easy. You can use Ethernet and USB 2.0 too so no worries there. The duplexer bonus makes it great value.

OP, maybe if you can post the specs it would attract some more hits? I.E. it can do CD/DVD printing, Ethernet, USB 2.0 which are features you normally can't find on a $198 printer with a free duplexer.

Cite expensive ink tanks as a drawback, seems to be the case with most Epson printers.

Thanks for the link. I was once told, if buying a printer always price the ink cartridges first. That review is a very good case in point.

    • No problem. Very good advice too.

However, this is what I do - use a laser printer for B&W and use the color printer for the odd colour job.

My monochrome laser printer was purchased in 2007 and I'm still using the toner they gave me (done about 1,000 pages now). This cost $99 then. I have a HP AIO that is used for rare color printing, and even that is using the original in cartridge.

For photos, I never do them at home. Dozens of stores will print in far superior quality on better paper for $0.19 or cheaper.

I suppose the TX700W is still an expensive printer for the 'odd' color job. But it does have advantages being wireless and ethernet capable. CD/DVD printing is a plus too, and duplexing is another great feature.

      • People thinking of getting an inkjet for the "odd colour job" need to factor in cleaning cycles, which run regularly or else the printer gets clogged up and one or more colours won't print. Often they'll still get clogged if you're not printing much, and you'll need to run a major cleaning cycle which wastes an even greater volume of ink.

So they still need regular ink replacements even when you hardly ever print anything. The problem is this cost is one of those "dirty little secrets" that's virtually impossible for the consumer to determine, but from my experience the wasted money can be significant.
