  • I'm a little confused about it.

What does it do differently compared to those $80 all in one blender/juicer combos.

Does it really produce better juice then squeezing it?

      • Sounds good.

One more question, I assume that its a lot of work to press oranges, grapefruits etc?

As in more work then cutting it in half and putting it onto my electric squeeze juicer?

        • It is more work, but on the upside, cleaning a cold presser is a lot quicker and painless than cleaning a centrifugal juicer. The extra time you spend preparing your fruit is more than made up by the time and effort you save in cleaning it.

Not only that, but you will be more encouraged to use the machine. I bought a Hurom for my mum and she uses it a lot now because it's so much easier to clean. She would spend a long time cleaning her old unit, and as a result didn't juice much with it. But she uses her new Hurom all the time.

It's also more efficient. There is less pulp and it comes out drier. Green vegies will yield a lot more juice than you'll get from a centrifugal. More juice for your money, which means the more you use it, the more you save.

Having said that, my juicer cost over $400, not $99, so I would expect a difference in performance.

        • Thanks… I think I'll stick to my electric squeeze juicer. 5 seconds to set up, 5 seconds to clean :)

        • 5 secs to clean? Really? What model is this, I want to research it a bit.

        • Maybe you aren't sure what I have exactly?

Its like that, got it from Aldi for $5 :)

          Oh.

          That's not a juicer. That's just a squeezer.

If you're comparing this to a cold press juicer, they're not even in the same class of product. You're not going to squeeze any apple juice out of this for example. And if you paid $80 for it… ouch.

        • Did you even read what I posted.. I pretty clearly posted squeezer and how much I paid.

        • You said squeeze "juicer" which is misleading.

A blender is not going to call itself a blend "juicer".

And the price you paid is of the class of a centrifugal juicer, so that's what I assumed you had.

          To answer your original questions,

What does it do differently compared to those $80 all in one blender/juicer combos.

It can extract juice from any fruit or veg, not just citrus like your squeezer. I don't know how good yours will be at extracting juice from pineapples or carrots for example.

Does it really produce better juice then squeezing it?

Well it works on a higher range of fruit than yours for a start..

One more question, I assume that its a lot of work to press oranges, grapefruits etc?

I don't see why it would be. The machine does it for you, you simply drop it into the chute.

As in more work then cutting it in half and putting it onto my electric squeeze juicer?

You'll have to cut it in smaller pieces than half, but that's not hard to do.

If the compared prices are $80 and $99, the $99 product does a lot more for its cost than the $80 squeezer, since the squeezer only works well with high water content fruit (such as citrus).

They are two different classes of product, and a cold press juicer normally costs hundreds of dollars.

If this product is of good quality and reliability, it's a bargain. But I have no idea how good this thing is.

  • Iwell juicer. so it's apple?

    • +1

No, the i is capitalized, so they managed to avoid the lawsuit.

      • and the irony is that you can juice apples.
