Love mine. Compatible with existing Panasonic shaver cords.

  • the shaver shop comparison is probably an unfair one, it has 3 blades vs only 2

    • +2

      They are both 3 blade.

      Amazon:

Panasonic ES8103S Men's 3-Blade (Arc 3) Wet/Dry Rechargeable Electric Shaver with Nanotech Blades, Silver

      • Amazon one is made in China. Shaver shop example says made in Japan…

        • This is the exact model plus the cleaner/charger (not included on Amazon). I'm guessing if there is no flag there for Made in Japan then it's made in China?

  • Thanks OP. Got one.

  • Can you adjust the height of the cut of these so that you can have that stubble kept trim? Or does this do complete shave only?

    • +2

Q: Is the "cut" adjustable? Any suggestions?
A: No, the cut is not adjustable. You can only adjust the holding angle and pressure.

      +1 Excellent jungle trimmer from a well-groomed owner :)

Thanks. Just the Christmas gift for Robot Dad :)

    • +5

Thanks Robot Mum! just what I needed as it has been 12 months since you picked up the previous ES8103S. Nothing like paying close to the same price of blades + foils for a whole new shaver.

  • would this be any good at shaving my pubes?

    • Absolutely not - you really, really, really, need a Braun Silk Epil. 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

This is a great shaver for the price. It is not the latest model but it gives a very close shave with 3 blades and the shaver head size is still manageable.

  • how does warranty work with this buying from amazon

  • I bought this the last time it was posted on ozbargain, think it was about $60 back then. The Australian dollar was probably stronger, been a good purchase and still holding up well. :D

Edit: actually appears to be around the same price this time because I forgot postage.:)

  • got one, was looking for this very item as a gift!

  • Thanks. Bought.

  • Bought one thanks! I also bought a replacement blade for another shaver. Saved on shipping. :)

jeez suckered into another OZB deal, thanks :)

  • Question, never used electrical shavers before but getting sick of these Mach 3 and Fusion crap from Gillette. How long does an electric shaver last? Do the blades have to be changed often or any future maintainence cost on this product once bought?

    • For me they last until the battery dies, which is at least a couple if years. I've never replaced a blade before. Give one a go - though it'll probably take your skin a week to adjust to electric shaving.

    • I've had mine for 2 years, shave everyday and have not had to change the blades. This was my first electric shaver and i spent a bit of time researching before i bought it. It really has been a good shaver for me. So i can vouch for it. The model i have is ES8103 (no S), but i think it should be the same, cause mine is 2 years old. No maintenance problems for me so far. I clean it once a week by just sticking it under the tap.

Just bought one. Not entirely sure why.

  • How does this rate against this?

    http://www.shavershop.com.au/online-store/electric-shavers/e…

I had a look at the specs and can't work out which one to get for hubby's Christmas. Doesn't seem to be major feature differences but the Shaver Shop one is meant to be much more expensive RRP???

Leaning towards the Shaver Shop one simply because it is simpler, especially if there are any issues with it and we need to return it. It also gives me an excuse to take the kids to the Plaza ;)

  • Bought one…Cheers Big Ears.

Guys i can vouch for the quality of this shaver. I bought this around 2 years ago for $90 (i got it at a real bargain as it was on sale from $140). I use it everyday and have had no problems. I think this is a good price if you get free shipping. Mine says made in China for those who are curious.

  • Nice find! I was about to buy the previous model for twice as much :)

  • Looks to be like this model for ~$165 at shaver shop http://www.shavershop.com.au/online-store/electric-shavers/e… but minus the cleaner/charger.

  • very good shaver. good find OP.

for me its coming up $55 so should be:

    55.00 USD = 59.0541 AUD
    US Dollar ↔ Australian Dollar
    1 USD = 1.07371 AUD 1 AUD = 0.931350 US

    • plus shipping…

      • OK I saw free shipping and when I added to cart and signed in price didn't change because I didn't confirm credit card. My bad!

  • Can someone please confirm that this model sold from Amazon does not come with a charging station, but it does come with a cord to charge it. Is that correct? Wanted to check, as I can't see it stated on the page and don't want to have to buy a charging cord once it arrives. For reference, the site says it comes with a 'travel pouch, hypoallergenic blades and foils for sensitive skin, a pop-up trimmer, and wet/dry cordless operation'.

    • They wouldn't sell a shaver without some mechanism to charge. :) No charging station is included. If you want that one, it's $360 from Amazon or $165 from the Shaver Shop.

If you buy from Amazon, you will need a travel plug/adapter to accommodate the US plug.

    • Mine came with a US cord, which I swapped for my existing AU cord.

  • anyone else?

  • Got mine yesterday. Yet to open it though.

  • Got mine last week and just had my first real shave. Took me like 40 minutes however I had a couple weeks of growth and obviously getting used to it. I'm guessing I'll just need to crank it out more often for a quicker job rather than letting it grow all over the show…

  • My last rotary shaver died recently after few years (Philips Norelco from Amazon)

Still getting use to this foil shaver, burns and itches like crazy…def alot louder too
