It's worth mentioning that the Season Pass is also on sale for $9.23 after applying the code.

I personally can't comment about the DLC contents as I have only played the vanilla version, which was pretty good on its own. Someone here might be able to tell you which DLCs to pick.

Also, the code will only apply to one item in your cart. You will need to purchase them separately if you want to apply the 30% off for the base game and DLCs (at least that's how it works the last time I tried to buy more than one item).

As always, if you don't have an account yet, you could use my ref to earn both of us extra $2 instore credit: http://www.greenmangaming.com/?gmgr=katukeci

  • I already have a PS3 copy, but never actually played(mainly because PS3 and its controller aren't optimised for a FPS game in my opinion). I always wanted a PC version of this…thanks OP.

Might as well buy the vanilla version and then buy the season pass.

    You'll save $20.

    EDIT: I'm wrong.

GOTY comes with all the skins, which the season pass does not give out.

Hardly worth paying $20 for skins though. I mean, you don't even see yourself when playing, so why pay $20 to have skins to appease some randoms/friends you play with?

    • I think the Season pass comes with the first 4 DLC campaigns.

The only noteworthy DLCs not included in the Season Pass would be the 2 new characters (Mechromancer and Psycho), so it would be cheaper to buy them separately. Someone please correct me if I am wrong though.

      • -3

Mechromancer comes with the standard version, Psycho is on e of the DLC's but not included in season pass.

        • +1

wrong… Mech was either pre-order or DLC.

  • if DLC content is anything like borderlands 2 then its well worth the $20

    Seasons pass includes
Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty
    Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage
    Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt
    Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack
Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep

Psycho Pack, Mechromancer Pack and others are not included in the Season Pass

Mechromancer is my fav vault hunter to play… so buy that too, or just get the GOTY to get the lot :D

  • What cheaper? Seperate DLC brought together or GOTY?

  • Base game is deff worth it. Put 50+ hours into it.

Wondering if I should get the season pass, can someone comment on what the play length would be? I don't care about skins, just want more missions and loot.

    • +1

they'll each take about 6-10 hours depending on how many of the side quests you want to do.
all of the DLC addons are good except for sir hammerlock's big game hunt, which is a bit grey looking and unfunny.

  • What are people's opinions on the season pass DLCs? Worth playing?

This is why I hate all this DLC/season pass nonsense. Makes everything so F#&*%^g confusing.

It is worth noting that the GOTY comprises of the base game + season pass + collector's edition dlc (some skins) + creature slaughter dome dlc + mechromancer class + psycho class. Buying the GOTY costs 46.37 while buying the base game + season pass + the other four dlcs separately costs 35.86 during this promotion, all prices in USD and not counting the 30% off voucher code you can use.
So it is about $10 cheaper to buy the contents of GOTY separately but you have to buy each component in different transactions as the voucher will only apply to one item each transaction.

I definitely recommend getting at least the Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep dlc as it is hilarious to play through. As for myself since I got the base gmae + season pass in an earlier sale I will be picking up the two class dlcs as well as the 2nd level cap increase dlc (yes uni finished so time to grind for ph4tl00t).

    Hope this helps.

    • GOTY cost about $37 with the 20% off coupon which ends up about the same if not cheaper than BL2+ DLC separately, since I know Mr Torgue's Campaign of Carnage DLC which is included in the GOTY pack for AU region and cannot be purchased separately from GMG.

      • Pretty sure you can buy Mr Torgue's Campaign of Carnage by itself on GMG for 3.98 pre-coupon price. It is included in the season pass anyway which ends up cheaper if you intend to get all four expansions. Applying the 30% on GOTY gives you 32.46 while applying 30% off to buying GOTY components separately gives 25.10 so that's 8 dollar difference right there.

heads up everyone, even though I don't particularly like them anymore, ozgameshop currently have steam keys for BL2 GotY for $32.99 each.

    http://www.ozgameshop.com/pc-games/borderlands-2-game-of-the…

I do believe this is the cheapest around, barring a few of those way-overseas resellers of questionable legit-ness.

*disclaimer, I've never bought a digital key from ozgameshop so cannot vouch for how good the process is.

If you're willing and a couple of your friends are willing I highly recommend getting the GOTY edition. As stated above once you add the 30% off it comes to a price of around $35 and you get a hell of a lot of content for the money.

This is a game that you really want to play with friends, it can be a frustrating mess trying to get into this game by yourself. If possible find 1-3 friends with plenty of spare time and play the game from start to finish. I promise that you wont be disappointed. Personally I have put nearly 200 hours in Borderlands and another 200 into Borderlands 2.

If you want my opinion on the content of the GOTY edition. The base game was amazing, the captain scarlett dlc was fun but quite short. The mister torgue's dlc was hilarious and definitely worth the money, unfortunately Sir Hammerlock's dlc was quite boring but had some funny moments. Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep was the most amazing thing ever, it was non stop laughs and amazement from start to finish with the group of friends I played with.

Having said all of that, if you just want to try out the game with maybe 1 other friend and don't want to pay a lot, the base game is still packed to the brim with content. It's a decently long and exciting campaign and it's easily worth the current asking price.

  • Thanks for this. I've been waiting for a discount to pickup UVHP2, Psycho and the Halloween DLC.

    • The Halloween DLC is not discounted (but you can still use 30% off code).
