How much is a hearing test?
A lot of older people need hear aids but do not do FB.
I'm an audiologist.
You should be able to get a free hearing test from most private hearing providers. If you are a pensioner, Indigenous, or under 26 then you are eligible for free hearing services and free or subsidised hearing aids under the government Office of Hearing Services program.
10% off isn't a whole lot. Most places have some sort of ongoing discount. It would certainly pay to ask other places for a quote on how much the aids you are looking at will cost elsewhere.
I've heard that Costco do the cheapest prices for aids on a value for money basis. They don't work under the OHS program, but they use fully trained audiologists. I can't vouch for their service though, but I can't imagine it's too bad.
TL;DR Ozbargainers should try Costco unless they qualify for government services.
work at Costco much?
I've never even been in one in Australia. Just in Canada once. I don't have a place big enough to store bulk goods.
I clearly said people should shop around. Particular when hearing aids are a sizeable purchase.
If you're going to troll me when I contribute info in a field I know something about what's the bloody point…
