What happened to all the cheap laptops?? I just had a look on MSY's notebook pricelist and theres nothing there under $450!!

As an alternative to used, there's these refurbished Acers with 12 month warranty and free delivery.
Bought mine in February and no problems with it.

$398 with kbd… Its the RT model so wont run non RT apps but its a windows tablet, awesome specs, speed and convience and much better than you give it credit for!
comes with office, ie10 and updates to 8.1
(its got an ARM chip, not a intel one so can only run apps launched for the RT model… The PRO at $800+ is intel but thats out of your budget)
Win RT = mock Windows. This Surface tab won't run normal/legacy Windows software, so it's hardly the same thing as "a Windows tablet."

You're much better off getting a 2nd hand notebook for that much. I got a mint condition Lenovo T420 for $400, which is an amazing laptop, better than anything budget.
