  • Damn Apple having to be different..won't work with Android or Windows Phone.

    • Are you sure? Cause I just bought them for my Galaxy S4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NT9QmZUDos

        According to the specs

The remote and mic are supported by iPhone® 3GS, iPod® nano (4th and 5th gen.), iPod touch (2nd gen.), iPod classic (120GB/160GB), Remote is supported by iPod shuffle (3rd gen.), Requires latest iPod software. Audio is supported by all iPod® and iPhone® models, Volume control functionality not available with BlackBerry devices, Audio is supported by all music-enabled smartphones with a 3.5 mm jack, Also compatible with BlackBerry® with 3.5 mm jack.

And my UE (can't remember the model #) doesn't work with Android. Good earphones, but the buttons won't work :(

      • I did a search just before I posted that that indicated it was iPhone/iPod only.

Another search revealed a review on AndroidForums indicating full functionality. So yeah…not so sure now.

        • No Worries. Audio should work at least for Android. I have an Ipod as well so I can use it with that.

Having used Apple spec'ed aJays Four with Android before - I found mixed results depending on the phone manufacturer. Pretty much all smartphones use a TRRS 3.5mm connectors, but some manufacturers' utilization is different. I forget what the exact differences were, but I remember that button behaviour was different between my old HTC Legend and my old (Samsung) Nexus S - despite using the exact same headset on each.

The general rule of thumb with Apple compatible 3 button headsets on Android is left and right channels will work along with usually the play/pause/call button, but volume controls won't.

Just received today, they sent me UE600 (no control version), not UE600vi.
When I search UE600vi on Dicksmith site, it is not on the website anymore.

  • I also revived the ue600 instead of ue600vi,
after 20 mins on hold I got through. Many other people complaining. I was told to take them into any store with the order acknowledgment and they will replace them with the ue600vi

    • I called Broadway store, and they said no stores have UE600vi.
If I want to return, I have to call Head Office.

  • Same here, received UE600 instead of UE600VI, tried calling but was on hold for 40 mins so gave up.
Took it to Chadstone DS and was told DS dont sell UE600VI, got money back.

Same, myself & a mate also received the UE600 instead of the UE600vi. I was after it specifically for the iPhone control & volume. Sounds like refund or deal with it from the other responses. Have made an online inquiry.

  • Again same here, received UE600 not UE600vi. Not much good on an iPhone without the mic. Bummer!!

So after a bit off stuffing around and a few different methods of contact the one that came through was talking to them via FB chat. They located a set of VI's for me and held them in store so I could swap them out.
