Aldi Christmas tree - good value for $50

Not specifically a bargain to post but just wanted to point out that the "dramatic pine tree" (yes, awesome name) that Aldi is selling at the moment for $49.99 is good value for money if you are on the lookout for a Christmas tree. It was $10 dearer last year.

It is 7 foot tall with 1200 tips (in three different styles which adds a nice dimension to the tree). I had been looking at a few in Big W/Myer/Target/Kmart and none came close in quality for that price. I saw one set up at our local store and was impressed - it seemed quite bushy compared to comparably priced ones elsewhere and the branches are hinged so it looks like you don't have to sort through all the pieces and put together the tree every year (my husband hates having to do that with our old tree).

After spending a few hours looking at Christmas warehouses plus Target Kmart Big W etc and not finding what we wanted I suggested to my husband that we would be better off going to Aldi and spending $49 to be slightly disappointed rather than $135-150. I put it up when we got home as we had no idea what it looked like. It has 3 types of branches including 'pine' style, it is hinged (I know the OP has said all this, just reiterating)It is more 6+ foot than 7. It has a single top branch than stands up to make it technically 7 foot. It is a nice shape. The stand is metal and slimline. I spent some time fluffing up all the 1200 tips and I think it looks as good or better than any of the $100+ trees we saw (some almost $300 were not seemingly as good though I dont think they take a lot of time to fluff up the trees properly in any of the stores) My husband is not a fan of Aldi but grudgingly said it looked better than our old tree. I really like the tree and the best bit is we only spent $49 to get it.
