I want to buy a Nexus 7 2013 for a Christmas present. Do you think there will be any sale prices before Christmas? I could buy it now off of Amazon for about $230AUD.

MSY has it for $299, which will be cheaper if you live near an MSY, which you probably do because they have MSYs everywhere.
Looks like msy is at $299 pickup what number are you seeing?
Didn't even think of them for this though I'm not sure if I'd want to. Lots of rma stories I've read didn't end well with them.
As I'm looking for one for myself, here's an interesting article that sheds some light on any potential price drop. It's expected from predictions that you can pick up the 16GB model for around $200. by around November 29 (Black Friday)

Not sure if it'll work but take that flyer to office works and you might be able to get it at $273.60The question is at $273 should I strike it now or wait to see if something better comes along. I think I remember there being a 2013 32gb price matched from binglee in the $260 range I'll need to look that up again though.
Another option - MSY have the Nexus 7 V2 (2013) 32 GB model for $279. I was able to price-match at OfficeWorks this morning for $265.05. That's pretty competitive even compared to the recent US$199 offer for the 16 GB model from Amazon USA - given that it has twice the storage, local power adapter and warranty.
The OfficeWorks guy tried to fob me off with the story that the MSY site says it's "Coming soon" so wasn't in stock. However, I'd been to the MSY across the road just prior and saw they had about 6 in the cabinet.

but I did get mine with the lpg at OW from dicks smiths price today with no issue. I'm not used to thinking about making the best use of the lpg so didn't even think of msy since I'm not to found of their support or rma (at least from the stories I've read).

Where can you get 16GB Nexus 7 16GB for AUD$230? On Amazon it's delivered for ~USD $231 which is just a bit less than $250 AUD.
