Does anyone know if you can buy those giant tubs of yoghurt (Greek-style or otherwise) in the Eastern Suburbs? I know in Auburn I can get quite a few kilos a lot cheaper than the supermarket and wanted to find a comparable deal much closer. I suppose one of the delicatessen-style grocerers would have it but the ones I've been to have gone all posh with posh prices to match.

Thanks for the backup deal. I don‘t remember how many kilos one would get in Auburn for $7.
I used to pay 50p (80 cents) for 500 grams of yoghurt in a no name London supermarket a few years ago and now I treat yoghurt as a luxury item.
Get a Hansell yoghurt maker (in Coles and occasionally on special) and make your own extra-yummy yoghurt with Hansells Thick & Creamy Yoghurt mix (on special quite often at Coles)…it is sooooo noice and cheap @ approx. $3 per litre. Hansells Greek & Honey style is ammmmmmmmmmazing! :)
ps. warning: Easiyo is no comparisonDo you mean the Easiyo yoghurt maker, or their yoghurt mix doesn't compare? I've got an Easiyo maker and have been using the Hansell mixes recently. I can't really tell the difference in quality to be honest. The Greek style with Coconut is the best!
The makers do the same thing = equal
I thick that Hansells yoghurt mix is soooo much better than Easiyo…just sayin'
Thanks for the tip. I'll look into it.
I bought the Easiyo version years ago and it wasn't my cup of tea. At the time I thought maybe I'm simply used to the texture and taste of mass manufactured yoghurts.
go to Eastlakes. There is a deli near the back next to Aldi and you can get 5kg+ tubs
Thank you in advance!!! I'll check it out tomorrow.
I keep forgetting about that shopping area (it'll always remind me of childhood McDonalds parties :)). If I recall correctly there's a Russian deli and a Turkish supermarket. Hopefully the prices are as good as out west.
I saw them on special at my local woolies yesterday. It was like 2kg of Jalna greek yoghurt for 8 bucks.
Cheaper than usual at least.
