Currently I have an iPhone 4S with Optus and want to upgrade to the 5S but the plan from Optus doesn't seem that great for the 5S. I have been with Optus for about 6 years so was wondering if anyone can help find a better plan or any recommendations. Even though it's been six years, would Optus reward a somewhat "loyal" customer?

Buy outright and go on a Vaya Plan
5S plans are ridiculous all-round and especially so if you want data.
best plan for ANY mobile phone is NO PLAN~~~
get gray market phone, otherwise local stock with gst claims if you have plan to go overseas.
then stick in prepaid.
dont watch youtube online wait till you are at home with home adsl. download first and watch on the go.
If you want to go on vodafone, there are 12 months plan for IP5S 32 GIG which costs you around $1300 including plan ($60 per month plan If i m not wrong) at the end of 12 months. They also gives 2 GIG of data every month with new offer of double data allowances. IP5S 32 GIG on apple website is $999.
They do reward disloyalty. I got $20 handset credit (bonus) + $10 from their $60 plan optus business. Therefore currently paying $5 a month for 64gig iphone 5s.
Friend of mine managed to snag 50% off his plan (his on $99 optus business - with old school 5gb data).
Moral of the story - just give optus a call and talk to the team that deals with people who want to change carriers, they will do almost anything to retain your service.
probably should include that I don't make much calls, text a lot and looking around the 2gb data limit :)
