PS4 day one completely sold out?

just got the urge to get a PS4 since i got the vita bundle yesterday. Has the first allocations already been sold out in every retail store?

  • Yep. First and second batch have been sold out. The earliest you'll get one is end of February/start of January.

Most retailers who are taking pre-orders have already filled their allocations set by Sony/Buyers.

Here's a list of retailers where you can still place an order and when you'll get stock:
    EB Games - 2014
    JB Hi-Fi - Dec 20-24
    Kmart - Jan 27
    Big W - Late December
    Dick Smith - Late December
    Harvey Norman - 2014

You could also try Target, David Jones, Myer, Good Guys and Sony Centres as they had no information on their website about availability, but this could also mean they won't carry it. Honestly, your best chance is to try and find a retailer who will be stocking the item on Nov 29 but isn't taking pre-orders so that you might be able to fight it out on the day to get your console.

    Hope that helps!

  • looks like a nexus 4 episode when that came out rare as. ah well guess i have to wait and try my luck.

    • For what it's worth, throw a pre-order down now anyway. At most retailers it's a small deposit ($10) and it's totally refundable if you do happen to find one sooner. That way if this next shipment happens to pre-order out too you're not waiting even longer.

      • I recently changed my launch day preorder at EB to an early Dec Killzone bundle at EB. It hurt doing it (I wanted to keep both but they wouldn't allow more than 1 preorder)

        • Should have made 2nd preorder at a different store doh

        • Nah, the KZ bundle was only offered to those who had made preorders in store on launch console. My store only had the 1 unit so I made an executive decision. No rush anyway, the launch selection doesn't do much for me and I just picked up a WiiU and a Galaxy Gear to quench my tech hunger.

PS4 will hardly be as rare as the Nexus 4, many people will have them, and supply will be steady and consistent.

      • If the ps3 has taught us anything about Sony's hardware… is buy the early models, before they remove it or change it

        • They removed PS2 support before long, but the PS4 doesn't have PS3 support anyway. OtherOS was removed later, but this was a software update, so it didn't make any difference if you already had one.
