Im debating whether to buy the new google nexus 7 from JBHIFI now, or wait until boxing day/december for sales/promos? do jb do noticeable discounts on the tablets during the holidays?

Can someone enlighten me why would one choose nexus 7 over samsung galaxy tab 3 8" ?
Similar price around $299 for both 16GB WIFI model.More powerful processor, higher resolution screen, more RAM, vanilla android…etc.
I wish the nexus was 8". The extra 1" screen size does make a lot of difference.
Trade-off though, it'll be a little bigger.
currently Jb have their google nexus 7 2013 for 32gb for about 320 and haven't had a sale on it yet, whereas dick smith and stuff have put it down to 280ish so are we expecting a big one soon??
Technology will always decrease in price, so if you're waiting, you'll be waiting forever.
The Nexus 7 is already a product which is very low margin - i.e. ASUS and Google and the retailers don't make a whole lot on it, thus, its price won't dip much.
This was what happenned with the 2012 version, where the price only started to drop dramatically once the new model was on the edge of being launched.
