Does JB HI FI price match?

I am wanting to buy a surface pro 2 and I was wondering if JB HI FI would price match Microsoft's student discount?

    You're probably better off asking them over us.
    IME, it varies between store and salesperson (/manager) - and that'll only be complicated by the fact it's a student discount.

    I'm not sure about a student discount.
    I went to pricematch JB for Pokemon X&Y on release date - they would only pricematch stores in the area.

    Give it a try, but probably not based off the fact that it's not readily available to everyone. If Microsoft is happy to let students get their gear a little cheaper that's awesome, but I doubt JB will be willing to lose money on it.

    I distinctly remember people saying they price matched the surface student price at JB, although I can't seem to dig it up (somewhere on ozb). Give it a shot.

      because I prefer to buy it local than online and it'll be easier to return if it's ever broken since I won't need to pay shipping

      They don't strictly have a price match policy, so all you can do is ask. I've seen them happily given, but they don't HAVE to do it. All you can do is ask.
