USB Y cable that splits data both ways

Hey Gang,

I know there are a ton of these cables all over the net which splits one side to data&power and the other side to power.

But the "Y" cable I'm after is to split data & power to "both" ends.

Gear:
Got a Logitech t620 wireless mouse(unified)
networked KVM don't know the brand(will update tomorrow)

Problem:
Wireless mouse lags over the KVM network(connected to KVM through USB)

1 Possible solution:
Was thinking of getting a "USB Y splitter" so one end takes the receiver for the mouse and the other 2 ends plug into the 2 PC's that are next to each other.
So I want simlutaneous connection so when I go to either machine through the KVM the mouse will work.

I believe this will be a quick & cheap way of fixing the issue till i work out the KVM problem.
Just can't find the right USB Y cable.

any links so i can buy such a cable that does this job would be appreciated.

i've read it twice and still don't understand what you're trying to do.

  • I think you're trying to plug in a Male USB-A to both computers, but have them branch together into a Female USB-A socket for the unified receiver. I'm not sure it is wise to join USB ports like this (I know there is a USB-USB "networking" cable, but I think it contains more than just wires). Also, with the unified receiver, I think it needs to be present when the computer boots for it to be configured properly, so I don't think you can just switch across computers using a KVM, but I could be wrong there.

  • Yeah that's what I'm trying to do.

One end female(which takes the unified receiver) then the other 2 ends plug into a PC each ( male USB).

Hoping I can control both with the same wireless mouse.
Wired will work no worries & tested individually and they work.
So that's why I was looking into a "Y" that could cheaply solve this.

  • There is software which will do that without a kvm.

    • K will look into it. Thanks.

  • This can't be done with USB. Either need to switch with a KVM or use something like synergy.
