When using discount vouchers, don't watch the $ amount but watch the litres.
If you are saving 16c a litre and put in 54.89 litres you will only save 54 times 16c, put in an extra 11 mls and you'll save another 16c.
Another money saving tip with petrol

you forgot to mention lifting the hose to get out all the fuel in the hose :)
Everyone laughs at me because I hold the hose up high so it's a direct flow into my tank. Most of the time I get a nice bit of free fuel out of the hose before I even pull the trigger because no one else is as tight assed as me around here :P
im just happy to not be constipated tbh
I prefer to hold my hose low so I don't splash any on the floor.
I then give it a shake to release the last bit of fuel.
A tight ass is best in public places, just in case.
Nice, never thought of it.
Thanks for sharing.
just checked my 30/10/13 receipt.
32.55 L @ 139.9 c/L
8 c/L Fuel discount = $2.60so.. 32.55 * 0.08 = $2.604
Coles Express must pro rata, as i just checked a receipt from the 7/10/2013
and it allowed for the trickle more fuel in the discounted litres. :)EDIT: say @ILOSTNEMO example was 44.32 @0.08 cpl disc = $3.52
but i received $3.55 discount for the same amount. If you are saving 16c a litre and put in 54.89 litres you will only save 54 times 16c
sorry but you actually save 54.89 times 16c - they do not round to whole litres
@Tonester
its Ok we found nemo ;)
Thanks for the tip. Indeed many people would try to round up on the dollar, whereas they should try to round up to the nearly litre to maximise the saving.
