A good low price for a giant phone.

    • More like a small tablet than a giant phone, but apparently those 5-6 inch "phones" are very popular in Asia.

      • those big ones may be popular among Asian girls. i have seen many of those girls use a note2 on sydney buses.

        • weird. Asian girls generally have smallish hands. I would've thought that would strain their wrists.

Or maybe its a status thing.

        • they have a bag! always have a bag around.
Guys don't. Because we drive! LOL. oh also, we wear coats and jackets, so need something smaller than this giant phone.

        • +1

totally understand that, but it would be a pain holding that phone when talking

        • +1

          lol
i notice many of them use earphones.

it's very rare to see a guy uses one of these big phones

        • Oh well nowadays is use the earphones to talk, well as always medical reports saying dont put phone on ear for so long…..girls talk and talk forever lol, nowadays they text though…

        • The thing is, one of my friends bought one on his recent trip to Hong Kong. He bought one because his family over there all reckoned his old 4" Sony Xperia way too small. Yes a guy, not a girl, and he carries that in his pants pocket (although he makes phone calls with a bluetooth headset). Looks like it's going to be cargo pants for him for the summer because I just can't see it fit into a jeans pocket.

It's also not so practical. For me at least as I jog with my phone. It would be quite awkward carrying a 6.4" jogging or working out in the gym.

        • Younger generation and asians are prefer chatting, not talking too much :)
Don't really need the phone feature

        • this is the issue for practical people. I wouldn't mind a 6" phone except it would not be practical when jogging or going to the gym. Though some girls won't accept anything less than 6 inches.

I'd get this over the Galaxy mega any day.

      • Yes, on my stop over at Singapore last year, everyone at the duty free shops had a Note2.. Even the guys.. Initially when i saw it at an electronics duty free shop, i thought it must be from the company to promote the phones but after i saw this trend at a few shops, I had to ask.. They just love the big phones..

      • I am asian. I bought my wife THL 5.8inch phone and yes, she brings it with her bag.
BUT i do like the phone though because after I use it and see it with larger screen and then compare to my Samsung S3, it seems that the wording smaller and the bigger screen better to see bigger wording.
Still okay to hold it and talk on the phone with her hand or with my hand.
Still fit to my jeans perfectly.
My next phone definitely close to 6 inch but not 6.4inch.

I bought my father in law Huawei ascend mate 6.4inch and still okay to hold but a bit bigger to fit to my pants.
So for older people and would like to see bigger fonts then a bigger screen probably better.

This is ridiculously tempting. $200 off RRP for a phone that only came out at the start of the month.

  • The shipping time from Kogan is too long.

  • 6.4"?holy moly.

  • I cant help but think guys who buy this phone just get it to watch ze porno in full hd and bbq alone ;)

    • Did you?

    • and in the shower

just want u guys know that Aussie are also Asian

    • -1

aussie are oceanian. so are kiwi.

btw, there is a guy on ozbargain, whose name is Bruce.
in his opinion, japanese are not Asians…now you are talking about aussie are asians…

      • +2

Aussie, Asian, Japanese, Chinese, etc … doesn't matter with which name to be called as long as we are living in one earth, so, we are basically the same ;)

      • You are so right, jap's history proved they didn't want to be Asians (they want the whole Asia japanised).

You logic makes me believe I'm Martian, bro.

Aussies and Kiwis are oceanian, that's true, but strictly speaking, only aborigines are true native Aussies or Kiwis(no offence). British or other European immigrates were new comers (Chinese fishermen even came to Australia earlier but they were just fishing).

As long as we now admit people as Aussies, who live in this country and love this country so much, no matter where they come from or how their skin colour look like.

Anyway, I'm not Martian , I'm a citizen of the earth;-)

        • @jva,

dont know why someone negged u and me, you have very good points, especially about "asia japanised" and british and other europeans were just "new comers".

my guess is that the negger was either a european racist who believes in "white australian" or a not-that-smart asian who misunderstood you and me about "japanised asia" and japanese are not aisan.

          anyway, it is off-topic :P

    • +1

Correct. 'Austral' means South in Greek.

      Australasia means South Asia.

Most 'Aussies' aren't even aware of the origin of the name for their own country!

  • this phone is ok, the borders (lcd vs the actual frame) are thick and wide though(unlike note2,3 or even mega)

we are selling it in the shop for $600 if someone wants it! AU version

    • which shop? pm me plz 0468316813

    • bezel is the word your looking for.

    • What's the difference from AU version to Kogan's Hongkong version? Thanks.

  • Just bought the Galaxy Note 3, it is amazing and not as big and fit easily into my jean. Z Ultra is too big because it have big bezel and I think it is difficult to slip into the jean pocket.
