Download Free music on Android

So.. I was searching for different ways to install free music on my samsung galaxy note2.. Came across a few apps like
1- Music Maniac - Free mp3 download
2- Tunee music..

Downloaded both and I must tell it exceeds my expectations. I thought i wouldn't find much luck there but i found a lot of free songs that if bought from itunes would get rod of a lot of gold coins from my pocket.

I found them from this article

Please share your experiences of other apps so that we all can enjoy music without having to pay $1-$5 for each songs.

When you're not paying the artist to produce the music you like, you're stealing from your future self.
That's not the Ozbargainer experience at all!

I Agree with you.. However, paying $3 or $4 for a single track is too much. Plus.. When you download music, you cant just have 1 track in your phone. I need at least 20-30 tracks in my phone .. that means i have spend $25-40 (taking an avg price of $1.29 per track) for a playlist. And I get bored with it in a month. So I need new ones. This means. you have to pay $40 every month for your music.

This is what I feel is not right. Of course that is my opinion though.. I've been paying for my apps. and trust me a lot of them so far.

but these international artists are just paid too much. Why do we have to pay for their singles?

Local/small time artists money and not those millionaires.

      • but these international artists are just paid too much. Why do we have to pay for their singles?

You don't.. Why not try listening to some music with more depth than 1 month of "value"?
There's plenty of amazing stuff out there, but you wont find it in the Top 40 which is filled with disposable music.

Sounds like you need to sign up to one of those subscription music plans… ie JB HiFi Now

    • The minor detail of only paying the artist $0.001 - $0.03 of the purchase price per song to produce music unless they're completely independent and selling their music directly to the consume - eg: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - notwithstanding, the term stealing is not accurate when referring to copyright infringement.

That aside, a subscription service would be more in keeping with the Ozbargainer way of life.

FWIW Sony's Music Unlimited service is usually $59.95/yr or thereabouts. Can be used on PS3, PC and Android though the interface isn't particularly good. Has offline payback at good quality.
Main downside is being limited to Sony-owned labels.

    Get a subscription music service.

I use Mog and love it because I'm with telstra and data on Mog isn't metered. $12/mo for a huge catalogue (only occaisonally is there a missing artist) is great value for me.

Freegal is a good (legal) service that gives you 3 free tracks a week. A reasonable collection, but misses a lot of popular artists. Your local public library is likely to have it available.

I have a subscription with Google Music All Access and it is awesome. $7.99/month and I can stream any music I want or pin things to my devices when connected to wifi to save my data limit.
Plus it has great radio services to discover new artists you may like.

  • I will happily pay for a sevice; IF it allows offline download in a common format.
Do we get NAPSTER in Australia yet? They were doing the whole 'mp3 p2p' thing, using a subscription based legal service.

EDIT: bought out by Rhapsody…. shame….

    • It gets ever worse if you want lossless audio. Options are very limited.

I hate the idea of buying CDs purely so I can copy it into FLAC, but there is usually no other choice.
