New tablet - Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7" or Google Nexus 7"... or better?

Need an idea what is best to take travelling for last-minute online booking and emailing back home.

Only need WiFi, not 3G. Camera not necessary.

Android is a must since the Apple behemoth is nothing but advertising.

Based on price of the two in the subject, looking for up to $300 max.

Which is better?

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7" is the worst new gen tab from a big brand. Even the old nexus 7 is far better @ the price of $149
