Is Sat or Sun the best day for a garage sale?

Does anyone know the best day for a garage sale in the western suburbs of Perth? Thanks

  • I'd say Sunday as it just seems more people aren't working on a Sunday compared to any other day.

Sunday is a good day. Don't start too early though, in my experience you get people turning up an hour or so before the advertised start time, trying to get the jump on other bargain hunters. We foolishly held one from 7am once and had people lurking around at 5.45am!

Saturday has always been the traditional day here in Qld.

I personally wouldn't bother going to one on a Sunday - if I am going round garage sales then I want to do a few at once…and there aren't many, if any at all, on a Sunday.

Put a sign on the front door "Grumpy husband, do not knock before 7am" and you won't get anyone waking you up too early.

    • Yes. I am thinking Sunday would be a waste. Considering a two day sale, to clear more out with not that much more work, but don't really like the idea of Sunday being tied up unless it is productive.

    • slackers don't work on Saturday…(yeah I'm a roach)

I would of thought Sunday would be most places, as you capture all the Saturday workers.

if you're working Saturday, you might be more likely to look for bargains.

  • as the mexicans would say, why cant you have both????

    • I didn't ask if I should have hard or soft!

      • or mild or spicy, or taco or nachos
